Khabib Nurmagomedov has previously been opposed to the idea of a rematch with Conor McGregor, who he defeated by submission in late 2018. Apparently, however, the lightweight champion has changed his tune. That’s according to his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. According to the elder Nurmagomedov, Khabib is willing to rematch McGregor — if McGregor is willing to undertake the challenge on Russian soil, in Moscow.

It appears that former ’champ champ’ Conor McGregor is interested in fighting the winner of November’s BMF Title fight. UFC 244, which takes place November 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York, is headlined by a welterweight bout between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal. The winner of that highly anticipated contest will take home the promotions new BMF Title.

Conor McGregor has not fought since he was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in late 2018. McGregor’s teammate Makwan Amirkhani believes that could soon change. Speaking to MMA Junkie after last weekend’s Bellator 227 card in Dublin, Amirkhani gave his take on McGregor’s prolonged absence. He believes McGregor’s appetite for competition will eventually drive him back to the cage.

In preparation for this Bellator debut, Rawlings has been working hard at SBG Ireland, where she’s even gotten some rounds in with former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor. Conor McGregor’s Irish firm has taken a financial blow. McGregor Sports and Entertainment Ltd recorded losses of €309,462 in 12 months. The firm’s accumulated losses increased from €354,708 to €664,170 in 2018. It also announced a loss of €470,923 in 2017.

The Irishman has been tweeting and hinting at returning but no fight has been booked by the promotion. McGregor has remained adamant he wants to have his rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov. But, in an interview with ESPN, he revealed he was scheduled to fight Justin Gaethje in July before a hand injury derailed that.

Shortly after he knocked out Ben Askren at UFC 239, streaking welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal began campaigning for a fight with former UFC featherweight and welterweight champ Conor McGregor. In the end, however, talk of this matchup fizzled when UFC President Dana White claimed that Masvidal is “too big” for a matchup with McGregor, and that he wouldn’t book the matchup on those grounds.

Conor McGregor has teased an imminent return to the Octagon, so he posted a throwback picture on Twitter of him pummelling Dustin Poirier to remind potential opponents who’s boss. The lightweight fighters exchanged blows in the Octagon at UFC 178, five years ago. McGregor tagged Poirier with a left hook which hurt the American Top Team prospect. He continued to utilize his leg kicks and reach, finishing with a right punch that clipped Poirier behind the ear. McGregor followed up with some hammer fists and secured a KO stoppage win over ‘The Diamond’. McGregor shared a snapshot of the final moments of their UFC encounter 178 on Twitter:

Fan’s have been long awaiting for Conor McGregor to ‘send me location’, and it seems the Irish fighter has finally set a date for his UFC return. ‘Notorious’ hasn’t fought since October 2018 when he entered the octagon to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Despite his endless confidence and trash-talking, McGregor was submitted by ‘The Eagle’ via neck crank in the fourth round.

Donald Cerrone and Justin Gaethje squared off in the headliner of tonight’s UFC Vancouver event and of course former lightweight champ Conor McGregor was watching. Donald Cerrone entered UFC Vancouver looking to rebound, this after suffering a second round TKO loss to Tony Ferguson in his most recent Octagon appearance at June’s UFC 238 event in Chicago. Prior to the setback, ‘Cowboy’ had reeled off three wins in a row, which included stoppage victories over Mike Perry and Alexander Hernandez.

Donald Cerrone believes a win over Justin Gaethje will give him a big push in the direction of a lightweight title shot. One fighter who could conceivably cut ahead of Cerrone in line, however, is Conor McGregor. Speaking at a scrum ahead of his fight with Gaethje, Cerrone was asked if he was worried about McGregor returning and jumping the contendership lineup. He responded by expressing doubt that McGregor, who he was briefly expected to fight earlier this year, will ever even fight again.

Justin Gaethje spoke to the media following his UFC Vancouver open workout on Wednesday night and was asked about his recent comments about McGregor and would love to fight him. While many believe the winner of Saturday’s headliner will fight McGregor in his Octagon return, Gaethje would certainly be down for that, or a shot at the potential lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father is hinting that, after 30 fights, his son will retire from mixed martial arts competition. Nurmagomedov maintained his incredible undefeated record at UFC 242 against Dustin Poirier. He beat “The Diamond” in the third round via submission and brought his record up to 28-0.
