Alexander Hernandez had to figure out why he was fighting. Hernandez broke into the UFC with an upset KO win over Beneil Dariush on short-notice. After the win, Hernandez was thrown into the deep end and has since had many ups and downs. Yet, after losing two in a row in 2022, he said he needed self-redemption, so he decided to step up on short notice to face Jim Miller at UFC Vegas 69.

UFC lightweight contender Alexander Hernandez is grateful to be back at 155-pounds. ‘The Great Ape’ has been out of action since his clash with Billy Quarantillo last December. The bout was an important one for Hernandez, as it was his promotional debut at 145-pounds. Sadly, the featherweight debut didn’t go the way the 30-year-old had hoped.

Alexander Hernandez believes he is now on version 2.0 as a fighter. At UFC Vegas 12 on Halloween night, Hernandez returned to the win column with a first-round TKO win over Chris Gruetzemacher. It was the first fight Hernandez had as a Factory X fighter and knows he is a completely different fighter now.

UFC lightweight Alexander Hernandez was one of four fighters who picked up a $50,000 bonus for their highlight-reel wins at UFC Vegas 12. Although the card didn’t have a lot of name-value on paper aside from the man event between middleweight headliners Uriah Hall and Anderson Silva, it turned out to be a tremendous night of fights. Out of 11 fights that took place at UFC Vegas 12, eight of them ended inside the distance, six of them by knockout, and two of them by submission.

UFC lightweight contender Alexander Hernandez admits that he may have contracted the coronavirus from his head coach, but still planned on fighting anyway. Hernandez was set to fight Islam Makhachev at the original UFC 249 card in Brooklyn in what would have been one of the biggest fights of his career to date. When the coronavirus pandemic meant that travel restrictions around the world were tightened, the UFC called upon Omar Morales to fight Hernandez instead, at the rescheduled card in Tachi Palace.

The Brazilian is riding a two-fight winning streak with wins over Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Mike Davis. However, the 32-year-old says many ranked fighters have simply turned down the contract to fight him. Burns wanted to fight Alexander Hernandez, Gregor Gillespie, and Charles Oliveira — among others. Unfortunately, he’s had no luck finding a willing dance partner.
