Dana White pulled UFC 324 fight between Alexander Hernandez and Michael Johnson amid betting flag

Dana White made the call to have one UFC 324 fight axed at the last minute.
Alexander Hernandez and Michael Johnson were scheduled to collide in UFC’s debut on Paramount+. That didn’t happen, as the fight was pulled amid rumors of betting concerns.
As it turns out, those rumors were correct. During the UFC 324 post-fight press conference, White revealed that a phone call made the decision to remove the fight a no brainer.
“Yeah, that’s what it is,” White confirmed. “Happened again. We got called from the gaming integrity service and I said, ‘I’m not doing this [expletive] again.’ So, we pulled the fight.”
White was then asked about whether or not there would be an investigation. The UFC boss believes that will be the case.
“The FBI is already deep into all this stuff anyway,” White said. “So, I’m sure this one will be next.”
White was also asked if he knows how long the situation would prevent either Hernandez or Johnson from competing. “That I don’t know,” White admitted.
At the moment, who caused the suspicious gambling activity isn’t publicly known. The situation isn’t unique to UFC officials outside of outright canceling the fight. Back in Nov. 2025, Isaac Dulgarian and Yadier del Valle had a bout with some odd late betting movement. Dulgarian lost the fight and was released from the promotion.
Back in 2022, James Krause found himself in hot water after a fighter he coached failed to disclose a pre-fight injury. Darrick Minner’s bout against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke was flagged for unusual betting activity. Minner ended up losing the bout in the first round after seemingly injuring his knee. Minner’s teammate Jeff Molina admitted to betting on the fight knowing the injury situation.
