Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley says he is eyeing a third-round knockout over Jake Paul in the pair’s summer boxing match. Woodley makes his professional boxing debut when he takes on Paul on August 28. It’s Woodley’s first fight since he was let go by the UFC following four straight losses, but even despite his struggles as of late, he is confident he has the skills to go in there and hand Paul his first loss in boxing. Speaking to Michael Bisping on the “Believe You Me” podcast, Woodley called his shot and said that he expects a third-round knockout over Paul.

Sunday was Father’s Day and Paul took to his social media to wish several UFC fighters all the best, only he trolled them hard. The YouTuber sensation Paul posted a collage of photos that included Usman getting choked out by Jose Caceres (with Paul photoshopped into the picture), McGregor sleeping after Dustin Poirier knocked him out at UFC 257, Daniel Cormier crying after Jon Jones knocked him out, Ben Askren just before Paul dropped him, and then Tyron Woodly, who Paul will be fighting next. YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul reacted after Anderson Silva emerged victorious in his boxing match with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The 46-year-old Silva defeated Chavez Jr. by split decision on Saturday night in his first boxing match since 2006. It was an impressive showing by “The Spider,” who showed that he still has the reflexes and punching skills this late into his combat sports career. It was a big win for Silva, who by beating Chavez Jr. could potentially set himself up for other big paydays in the world of boxing going forward. Even during his UFC run, Silva made no secret of his desire to step back into the boxing ring, and now that he’s a free agent and able to fight anywhere in the world, there will likely be more suitors for him going forward.

UFC president Dana White slammed Tyron Woodley ahead of the Jake Paul boxing match, saying that he hasn’t won an MMA fight in three years. Woodley recently concluded his UFC contract following four straight losses to Vicente Luque, Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman. Not long after this contract expired, Woodley agreed to terms with Paul for a boxing match later this summer. The two will now meet on August 28 in a highly-anticipated boxing match between the YouTuber Paul and the former UFC welterweight champion Woodley. But while the fight seems destined to be a pay-per-view blockbuster, it doesn’t appear as though White is a fan of it.

Belfort, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, makes his return to boxing for the first time since 2006 when he takes on YouTuber Tarzann at the Triller Fight Club event on June 19. While Belfort is focused on his upcoming opponent, he can’t help but look ahead to more big paydays in boxing, and right now there isn’t a bigger payday than getting to fight the Paul brothers, Logan and Jake. Logan just had a big exhibition boxing match with Floyd Mayweather while Jake is lined up to fight Tyron Woodley next after beating Ben Askren in his last fight. As far as Belfort is concerned, he’s hoping to be next — for both.

He started off his boxing career with an amateur white-collar boxing match against Deji Olatunji in 2018, which he won by knockout in the fifth round. Paul then made the move to become a professional, and in his first pro boxing match, he defeated AnEsonGib by TKO in early 2020. Paul then returned to the ring in November 2020 and he knocked out former NBA dunk contest champion Nate Robinson for the biggest highlight of his career. He then returned in April 2021, when he knocked out former UFC welterweight Ben Askren.
