Alan Belcher is set to headline his first BKFC event since coming out of retirement. After Belcher dropped a technical decision to Michael Bisping at UFC 159 in 2013, he proceeded to retire from the sport due to an eye injury he sustained in the fight. After years away from the fight game, ‘The Talent’ decided to sign on with BKFC in 2021, a move which he says needed to happen.
Former UFC title challenger John Dodson signs with BKFC

John Dodson is the latest ex-UFC fighter to join Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. On Friday, BKFC took to social media to announce they have signed Dodson to a multi-fight deal. The date and who he will fight in his debut is uncertain but he will likely compete in the bantamweight division which is 135lbs, the champion of that weight class is Johnny Bedford.
Thiago Alves no longer under contract with BKFC, eyes a return to MMA

Former UFC welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves is no longer under contract with BKFC as he eyes a return to mixed martial arts. Just a few months ago, Thiago Alves noted that he was interested in defending his BKFC middleweight championship against Mike Perry later this summer – perhaps as early as June. Alas, it doesn’t appear as if that’s going to happen, with an MMA return actually being more likely for Alves now at this stage of his career.

Ben Rothwell has opened up on his departure from the UFC. Rothwell was scheduled to face Alexander Gustafsson on May 21 but was surprisingly released by the promotion just weeks before the fight. Originally there was no word on why he was let go, but now ‘Big Ben’ has revealed that he was the one who asked for the release.

BKFC founder David Feldman has confirmed that Triller has officially acquired a majority stake in his organization. While it may not exactly be everyone’s cup of tea, BKFC has served as an important combat sports alternative in the last few years through their bare-knuckle boxing style. The likes of Paige VanZant, Chad Mendes, Mike Perry, Paulie Malignaggi and more have all entered the ring for the promotion, amongst a variety of other recognisable names from the landscape of boxing and mixed martial arts.

Ahead of his BKFC debut, Chad Mendes has revealed that he’s still signed to the UFC. Mendes retired from MMA in 2019 following a loss to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 232. During his eight year stint in the UFC, he was considered amongst the most entertaining fighters in the promotion. He also challenged for gold on three different occasions, coming up short against Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.

Mike Perry and Julian Lane had their press conference for their BKFC bout this weekend. During the event, ‘Platinum’ pulled out a bat during a scuffle with his opponent.. The scuffle wasn’t the first time that the two sides clashed in public. In December, Perry was shown on the broadcast as a guest commentator after his singing to the promotion. Lane threw a water bottle at the former UFC talent and insulted him. Almost immediately, Perry jumped into the crowd and began brawling with Lane.

Chad Mendes is finally set to make his BKFC debut and is apparently getting paid quite a bit of money for his services. Mendes hasn’t fought since 2018 at UFC 232 and he later retired in the summer of 2019. ‘Money’ recently announced his intention to return and signed with BKFC where he will face Joshuah Alvarez in a 155-pound bout on Feb. 19 at BKFC: Knucklemania 2.
