UFC middleweight Sean Strickland has reignited his back and forth with Jan Blachowicz over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. There’s been a lot of social commentary from UFC fighters over the course of the last few weeks regarding the Russian invasion that’s currently taking place in Ukraine. Unsurprisingly, there are several different viewpoints, with Sean Strickland previously suggesting that Ukrainians should “bend the knee“. In response, former 205-pound champion Jan Blachowicz said the following.

Islam Makhachev doesn’t think Conor McGregor deserves a title shot but if he gets it, he doesn’t see it going well for him. After Makhachev reportedly turned down a fight against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 272, Dana White said he would rebook the fight against Beneil Dariush. With that, many thought it opened up the door for McGregor to get a title shot which Islam doesn’t see happening, but if it does, he doesn’t think it ends well for the Irishman.

After missing out on a fight with Alexander Volkanovski, Henry Cejudo has a new target in Max Holloway. ‘Triple C’ has been out of the cage since May 2020. He retired following a win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in another defense of his bantamweight crown. However, shortly following his abrupt retirement, the former two-weight champion began discussing a return.

Anthony Smith doesn’t understand why Cain Velasquez is in jail but the person that allegedly molested one of the former UFC heavyweight champion relatives isn’t. Although Smith says he likely would’ve done the same thing Velasquez did had it been his kids, he says this is a scenario where you can’t take the law into your own hands as he will now do time in jail for it.

Kevin Lee expects to beat Diego Sanchez badly on Friday night in the main event of Eagle FC 46. After Lee was released by the UFC, he was quick to sign with Eagle FC and after his press conference, he told BJPENN.com he was told it’s likely Sanchez would be his first opponent. That ended up being the case which he is excited about.

Brendan Schaub thinks that Jorge Masvidal should fight Conor McGregor in his next fight. ‘Gamebred’ is coming off a wide unanimous decision loss to Colby Covington at UFC 272. The loss was his third in a row, with his first two coming against welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Renato Moicano is glad Marc Goddard didn’t stop his UFC 272 fight against Rafael dos Anjos. After the third and fourth round, many fans and even Michael Bisping on the commentary thought the fight should’ve been stopped. Moicano was down four rounds to dos Anjos and was taking unnecessary punishment but Goddard decided to allow the fight to continue which the Brazilian is thankful for.

Henry Cejudo has issued a fiery response to Kayla Harrison. After Cejudo announced he would be training Cris Cyborg, Harrison took a shot at “Triple C” and the Bellator featherweight champ. Of course, Cyborg had been angling for a fight with Harrison and wanted her to sign with Bellator.

Former two-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo believes he could really help UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal. Last Saturday night at UFC 272, Jorge Masvidal fell short in his attempt to defeat friend-turned-foe Colby Covington in their Las Vegas main event. While he did have a few nice moments, which included dropping Covington in the fourth round, he wasn’t able to capitalise and ultimately came up on the wrong end of a unanimous decision defeat.

While many fighters would prefer to be recognised solely for what they do inside the Octagon, Sean Strickland has taken a slightly different approach over the course of the last few months. In the wake of his wins over Uriah Hall and Jack Hermansson, the 31-year-old has opened himself up and allowed fans to see a different side of his persona.

Kamaru Usman has reacted after UFC President Dana White suggested that Chimaev vs. Burns will be a #1 contender fight. UFC 273 which takes place on April 9th in Jacksonville, Florida, will feature Khamzat Chimaev (10-0 MMA) vs Gilbert Burns (20-4 MMA) in a welterweight bout.
