Stephen Thompson has issued a warning to any of his potential opponents about missing weight in the future. Last month at UFC 291, Stephen Thompson was scheduled to square off with Michel Pereira. Unfortunately, the bout didn’t end up happening as a result of Pereira missing weight by three and a half pounds. Thompson had the option to go forward with the contest, but he opted not to do so. Because of that, he didn’t receive his show money, creating quite the controversy within the MMA community.

Mark Zuckerberg has claimed that he’ll be moving on from the idea of an MMA fight against Elon Musk. Over the course of the last few months, the talk of Mark Zuckerberg taking on Elon Musk has dominated the combat sports sphere. The founder of Facebook and the current owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, have gone back and forth with one another over social media. In addition to that, UFC president Dana White has expressed his explicit interest in putting on the bout under the UFC umbrella.

Vicente Luque is eyeing a big fight against Dustin Poirier if the opportunity presents itself. Luque recently snapped a two-fight skid by defeating a former UFC Lightweight Champion. He went one-on-one with Rafael dos Anjos inside the UFC Apex to cap off UFC Vegas 78. This bout went the distance and “The Silent Assassin” emerged victorious via unanimous decision.

The Octagon returned to Las Vegas for tonight’s UFC Vegas 78 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Vicente Luque vs. Rafael dos Anjos. The highly anticipated welterweight main event proved to be a hard-fought back and forth affair. Vicente Luque and Rafael dos Anjos went to battle for five straight rounds, with both men landing some solid strikes and takedowns. After twenty-five minutes of action the bout went to the judges’ scorecards, and ‘The Silent Assassin’ walked away with the unanimous decision win.

Luque (21-9-1 MMA) will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since suffering a knockout loss to Geoff Neal twelve months ago. ‘The Silent Assassin’ experienced a brain bleed following that bout and was forced to undergo significant testing before finally being cleared to fight by the Nevada Commission last month. Vicente has gone 4-2 over his past six fights overall, earning wins over Tyron Woodley, Michael Chiesa, Randy Brown and Niko Price during that stretch.

McGregor (22-6 MMA) of course spent part of his spring serving as a coach on Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. According to ‘Mystic Mac’, he will now square off with the opposing coach, Michael Chandler, at UFC 296 this December in Las Vegas.

Francis Marshall knows he has to follow the game plan at UFC Vegas 78. In his last fight, Marshall strayed away from his game plan against William Gomis and lost a close split decision. Marshall says he decided to fight differently than what he and his coaches studied for, and that ended up costing him.

Billy Quarantillo knew his scrap with Damon Jackson at UFC Nashville would be a dog fight. Quarantillo was coming off a first-round KO loss to Edson Barboza back in April and knew he needed to get back into the win column. Yet, in the first round, Jackson was able to use his wrestling to grind on Quarantillo and win the open five minutes, which is exactly what Billy was expecting.

Isaac Dulgarian will finally be making his UFC debut. Dulgarian earned his UFC contract on Lookin’ For A Fight and also received the Full Send deal, but that never came to fruition. He was supposed to make his debut in January but had to withdraw from the fight which was heartbreaking for him.
