Sean O’Malley has made it clear he wants to fight Dominick Cruz and he now is hinting at the matchup happening at UFC 269 in December. O’Malley has made it known he will be fighting at UFC 269 on December 11 in Las Vegas. However, he doesn’t have an opponent despite the likes of Ricky Simon and Brian Kelleher have called him out, yet on Monday, he hinted at a matchup with Cruz again.

Aljamain Sterling has been forced out of his scheduled rematch with Petr Yan at UFC 267 and Sean O’Malley is willing to fill the void. Sterling (20-3 MMA) captured the promotions bantamweight title back in March, this after Yan (15-2 MMA) was disqualified from their fight due to an illegal knee in round four. Prior to the fight-ending strike, the Russian appeared to well on his way to earning his first career title defense.

O’Malley (14-1 MMA) made headlines on Monday after he shared a video of himself and ‘Notorious’ conversing at the game. Immediately speculation began as to what the two UFC stars were discussing.

Ever since making his UFC debut earlier this month with a KO win over Luigi Vendramini, Pimblett has been a thorn in the side of many other UFC fighters with his trash talking. One of the fighters who he has targeted with his trash talk is O’Malley, who is one of the UFC’s youngest and brightest stars. While one would figure O’Malley wouldn’t exactly be thrilled with what Pimblett has said about him, O’Malley said that he appreciates that he’s trying.

O’Malley is one of the top young bantamweights in the sport right now, as well as one of the biggest stars in the sport. UFC bantamweight Brian Kelleher wants Sean O’Malley next, saying “he says he doesn’t want to fight ranked guys. I’m not ranked right now.” Kelleher defeated Domingo Pilarte via dominant unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 34 this past weekend. Since joining the UFC back in 2017, Kelleher is 7-5 overall in the Octagon. While he has yet to break through and become a top-15 ranked fighter, he has proven himself to be quite the gatekeeper into the rankings, and with O’Malley recently suggesting he has no interest in fighting ranked opponents for the same pay, Kelleher called him out.

Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub defended youngster Sean O’Malley, telling matchmaker Sean Shelby to treat UFC fighters like “human beings.” O’Malley is one of the biggest young stars in the UFC right now, and the promotion reportedly wants him to fight veteran Frankie Edgar at UFC 268 in November at Madison Square Garden in New York City. However, “Suga” reportedly turned the fight down, citing his desire to fight in Las Vegas instead of New York due to tax reasons. As well, O’Malley said his coach, Tim Welch, will not be available to corner him the week of UFC 268. In response to O’Malley turning down the fight, the UFC matchmaker Shelby apparently had some strong words for O’Malley, including taking a shot at his friendship with 6ix9ine.

Sean Strickland trashed Sean O’Malley over his new 6ix9ine tattoo, calling him a “f*cking bitch” and wondering what is going on in his head. Earlier this week, O’Malley got a tattoo of the number ’69’ on his right shoulder, and it was tattooed by the rapper 6ix9ine himself. Although 6ix9ine is a popular rapper, he is extremely controversial for his past, which includes a felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015, in which he made sexual videos of a 13-year-olf girl. Then in 2019, he agreed to a plea deal for two years in prison after agreeing to testify against the Nine Trey gang members. In August 2020, 6ix9ine was released early from his prison term, and he is now a free man, though his checkered past still continues to haunt him.
