Yan has been gunning for Cejudo and the UFC bantamweight title ever since he knocked out Urijah Faber in devastating fashion at UFC 245. It was a huge breakthrough win for Yan, who knocked out a legend on one of the biggest UFC cards of the year, improving his UFC record to 6-0 in the process.

Top contender Petr Yan says that it’s obvious UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo is ducking him and has no interest in fighting him anytime soon. Cejudo knocked out Urijah Faber at UFC 245 for his biggest win to date. On the same card, Marlon Moraes defeated Jose Aldo via split decision. However, the decision was extremely controversial, with UFC president Dana White saying that he thought Aldo won. Cejudo also thought Aldo won and is chasing a fight with the Brazilian legend despite the fact he is riding a two-fight losing skid at the moment.

His shot at the title fell flat as ‘Triple C’ finished him via TKO in the third round. Jose Aldo is looking to return to championship glory and take the bantamweight belt from Henry Cejudo. A win against the No 1 ranked contender, Moraes, could lead to that title shot.

However, that won’t happen this year as Henry Cejudo is out until early 2020 due to shoulder surgery. With that, Petr Yan wants an interim title fight against Aljamain Sterling, who both won their respective bouts at UFC 238.
