Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman will be running it back. Ever since Usman knocked out Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261 many wondered who would be next for the welterweight champ. He has plenty of options with the likes of Covington, Stephen Thompson, the Leon Edwards-Nate Diaz winner, or Michael Chiesa. But, according to White, it will be the Covington rematch.

Tyron Woodley will be making millions of dollars to box Jake Paul, his manager Malki Kawa, revealed. After it was made official that Woodley would box Paul, the former UFC champion claimed it would be the biggest purse of his career. According to Kawa, Woodley did better than Ben Askren due to the fact he’s getting a cut of the pay-per-view which Askren did not. With that, he says Woodley will make millions of dollars.

UFC welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev is heading to Las Vegas alongside teammate Alexander Gustafsson ahead of their returns to the Octagon. Chimaev hasn’t fought since last September when he knocked out Gerald Meeerschaert in 17 seconds due to health issues stemming from a severe case of COVID-19. The coronavirus was so hard on Chimaev’s body that he even temporarily announced his retirement from mixed martial arts. However, he was able to get healthy and he decided to re-commit to the sport and announced that he will be returning to “smash” his foes.

Both fighters are tremendous talents, but for months it was rumored that the show would have Covington and Masvidal as the coaches. So when it was revealed to be Volkanovski and Ortega, some fans were let down.

UFC president Dana White claims the world’s leading MMA promotion will “soon” introduce full-time health benefits to their fighters. White replied to a fan on Instagram who asked him if the UFC would consider having a full-time health benefits package for its fighters so they can deal with issues once their fighting careers are over. For the first time in over a decade, White revealed that the UFC is working on such a benefits package for its athlete (via MMAjunkie.com).

St-Pierre is retired from MMA but he has stayed in incredible shape. Having just turned 40 years old, it really seems like GSP is in the best shape of his life right now, which is incredible to consider since he was one of the poster boys for fit MMA fighters for years. Taking to his social media this week, GSP posted a photo of himself after cutting out the processed food from his diet. You can see the difference as “Rush” looks completely ripped.

Although Alvarez is known for his boxing skills inside the cage, he hasn’t been one of the MMA fighters who has tried to make the move to boxing like so many others have. And based on his social media post, it doesn’t seem like Alvarez has any interest in boxing anytime soon, either.

Heavyweight Renan Ferreira called the matchmaking in PFL “very shady” and claims the promotion favors rival Fabricio Werdum. Ferreira picked up the biggest win of his career when he finished Werdum with strikes in a big upset at PFL 3 last month, but the result of the contest was overturned to a No Contest. The New Jersey Athletic Control Board ruled that Ferreira had tapped out to a submission attempt from Werdum moments before the finish happened. Ferreira remains adamant that he never tapped, but video evidence appeared to be inconclusive either way. Regardless, the result of the fight was overturned, which means Ferreira gets one point instead of six in the PFL heavyweight bracket. Werdum also gets one point due to the overturned result.

For Silva, it’s his return to the boxing ring for the first time since 2005 after he was released from the UFC following a knockout loss to Uriah Hall last fall. The UFC legend struggled in the last few years of his career in the Octagon and UFC president Dana White decided to give the 45-year-old Silva his release from the promotion. However, he is still adamant that he can fight and has made the move to the boxing ring.
