Chris Barnett is excited to return to the Octagon and build off his last win. At UFC 268, Barnett picked up his first UFC win in highlight-reel fashion as he landed a spinning wheel kick KO against Gian Villante. Since then, Barnett says his fan base has only grown and although this is much later than he wanted to return, he is eager to face Martin Buday at UFC Vegas 51. Given that Buday beat his friend Lorenzo Hood to earn his way into the promotion, Barnett is extra motivated for this one.

The UFC 273 co-main event between Aljamain Sterling (21-3 MMA) and Petr Yan (16-3 MMA) took place this past weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. It was Sterling who succeeded in defending his bantamweight belt by defeating Yan with a split decision victory. Khamzat Chimaev is coming off a victory over Gilbert Burns at this past Saturday’s UFC 273 event in Jacksonville, Florida. Chimaev (11-0 MMA) defeated Burns (20-5 MMA) by unanimous decision, enabling the Swede to keep his undefeated record.

Sean O’Malley has shared his thoughts on the potential of a Henry Cejudo vs Alex Volkanovski fight. Henry Cejudo ‘Triple C’, 35, (16-2 MMA), last fought back in May of 2020 at UFC 249 where he defeated Dominick Cruz (24-3 MMA). At the post-fight interview, Cejudo announced his retirement.

Oscar De La Hoya believes Jake Paul is the real deal. Paul is currently 5-0 as a pro boxer and coming off a highlight-reel KO win over Tyron Woodley back in December. He has said he will be returning in August but the opponent is unknown. Although many have been critical about Paul and his boxing career, De La Hoya says ‘The Problem Child’ is legit and could beat champions right now.

Sean O’Malley has shared regret that he wasn’t in Petr Yan’s corner for his loss at UFC 273 against Aljamain Sterling. Weeks before his bout with the UFC bantamweight champion, ‘No Mercy’ lost his corner due to VISA issues. As a result, Yan began shopping around for potential big names to help train him. Two such names that offered their services were Henry Cejudo and Sean O’Malley.

At UFC 273, Chimaev was set for the toughest test of his career as he fought the second-ranked, Gilbert Burns in an intriguing matchup. The Swede was just 4-0 in the UFC but had run through all his previous competition. However, the fight was much closer than many thought as Chimaev edged out a decision in one of the best fights of the year.
