Andre Petroski wasn’t surprised when he submitted Nick Maximov despite being the biggest underdog at UFC Vegas 54. Petroski asked for the fight as he knew Maximov came with a lot of hype due to the fact he was undefeated and a main training partner of the Diaz brothers. Why he wanted the fight was due to the fact he saw a lot of holes in his game and knew he could expose them.

His last time in the cage was at UFC 271 in February of this year, losing to Jared Cannonier (15-5 MMA) by knockout in round two. Prior to the loss, Brunson had 5 wins in a row to Darren Till, Kevin Holland, Edmen Shahbazyan, Ian Heinisch and Elias Theodorou respectively.

Junior Dos Santos has opened up about the ‘absurd mistakes’ he made in his UFC fights with Cain Velasquez. Dos Santos (21-9 MMA) and Velasquez (14-3 MMA) fought a total of three times in the Octagon. The two heavyweights met at UFC Fox 1 in 2011, UFC 155 in 2012, and at UFC 166 in October 2013. While Dos Santos won their first battle, he succumbed to defeat against Cain the next two times out.

Usman is currently on the sidelines as he rehabs his hand injury. When he returns, it’s likely he will face Leon Edwards. After that, there is no clear-cut contender but Khamzat Chimaev is one fighter knocking on the door. Yet, Usman believes the Swede should have to go through Covington first.

In the lead-up to their fight, Gaethje was vocal in saying Oliveira was still a quitter and he would prove it. He also doubted the Brazilian would stand and trade with him as he said he would, but that turned out to be the case. The two traded shots and Oliveira ended up dropping Gaethje with a big shot and ended up getting a submission win in the first round.
