UFC women’s flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield has her eyes set on champion Valentina Shevchenko. The 23-year-old was last seen in action at UFC Vegas 56 last Saturday night. There, Blanchfield earned her sixth victory in a row, as she submitted J.J. Aldrich. The victory was her third straight inside the UFC octagon since being signed last April.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 56, a heavyweight bout headlined the card as Alexander Volkov took on Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Volkov was looking to rebound from a submission loss to Tom Aspinall in the main event of UFC London back in March. The former Bellator champ had been inconsistent as of late, going just 4-4 in his last eight and was looking to remain a contender in the heavyweight division. Rozenstruik, meanwhile, was coming off a decision loss to Curtis Blaydes his last time out.

While he wasn’t exactly a fan favourite upon entering the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Hardy did manage to have some early success following his appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series. Alas, in the years following, the 33-year-old continued to suffer a string of defeats with losses to Marcin Tybura, Tai Tuivasa and Sergey Spivak marking the end of his tenure with the promotion.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Costa (13-2 MMA) had been accused of striking a health care professional at a local medical center after she allegedly refused to issue the fighter an immunization card for the COVID-19 vaccine. The claim is that ‘The Eraser‘ wanted the immunization card without actually getting the vaccine.
