Justin Gaethje and Michael Bisping have weighed in on the likely matchup between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson. UFC president Dana White recently confirmed to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto a lightweight title bout between champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson is being targeted for April 18. This would be “The Eagle’s” third title defense and Ferguson’s first shot at the undisputed gold. Ferguson is a former interim champion.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father Abdulmanap says that the upcoming UFC lightweight title fight against Tony Ferguson is a “dream fight” for MMA fans. UFC president Dana White told ESPN on Monday that the fight between Nurmagomedov and Ferguson is getting closer to becoming a reality and it is expected to headline a pay-per-view on April 18 in Brooklyn, New York.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight Cindy Dandois was allegedly the victim of a vicious beating by her ex-boyfriend outside her home in Belgium. Dandois told HLN that she had recently broken up with her ex-boyfriend, called by the initials M.B. in the news article. The initials stand for Musti Brika, who is also an MMA fighter and who was named as the attacker on the SCEPTR news website. According to Dandois, she told Brika that she wanted break up and remain friends, but he was not happy and had been threatening her for a while. She was shocked when he showed up at her front door and beat her last Friday afternoon, cutting her face and breaking her nose.

MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson says he is interested in taking a boxing match after his mixed martial arts fight against Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator Japan. Jackson is currently signed to Bellator and is coming off of a KO win over long-time rival Wanderlei Silva. He’s now set to fight fellow PRIDE alum Fedor on New Year’s Eve in a matchup between two legends of mixed martial arts. Now 41 years old, Jackson knows he doesn’t have much time left in combat sports, and he’s already planning his next move.

At UFC Moscow, the former NFL star stepped up on short notice to take on Alexander Volkov, who was a top-10 heavyweight. The fight did not go Hardy;s way as he lost by decision. But, according to American Top Team owner Dan Lambert, he believes that loss will be crucial in Hardy’s career.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw has opened up on his EPO usage which led to his USADA suspension from earlier this year. Dillashaw was forced to relinquish his UFC Bantamweight Championship after being handed a two-year suspension as a result of him taking Erythropoietin (EPO). Dillashaw was widely condemned by the mixed martial arts community, but even with that being the case, he’s already looking ahead to the future and what he can do to improve upon returning to the Octagon.

Dustin Poirier is hot on the heels of his last opponent, Khabib Nurmagomedov, as he wants to fight on the same card as the Dagestani lightweight champion in his next outing. The American Top Team prospect last fought at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi against Nurmagomedov. As the significant underdog, Poirier delivered a valiant effort but couldn’t compete with the grappling skillset of his opponent and was ultimately defeated in the third round.

A third suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the disappearance of Aniah Blanchard, the 19-year old stepdaughter of UFC heavyweight fighter, Walt Harris. On Monday, authorities in Alabama found human remains on a country road. They are believed to belong to the missing Aniah Blanchard.

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier praised rival Conor McGregor, saying the Irishman is “by far” the hardest puncher he’s ever fought. Poirier has been active on social media answering fan questions, and someone asked him who was the hardest hitter he ever fought. Poirier didn’t hesitate and said it was McGregor. Here’s what “The Diamond” wrote on his Twitter in response to the fan.

TJ Dillashaw is interested in boxing Floyd Mayweather. The former UFC bantamweight champion is currently suspended until January of 2021 due to a USADA violation for EPO use. He says he has been using that time to rehab his shoulders, but he says he will also use the time to improve his boxing if a Mayweather fight can happen.

The UFC looks to be heading to Brazil in March and a pivotal women’s bout between Paige VanZant and the surging contender Amanda Ribas is in the works. According to a report from MMA Fighting, VanZant will face Ribas in Brasiia, Brazil on March 14. It will be the final fight on VanZant’s UFC contract before presumably testing the free agent market.
