Daniel Cormier believes that his rival Jon Jones vacated the UFC light heavyweight title because he didn’t want to rematch Dominick Reyes. After defending his title earlier this year at UFC 247 with a decision win over Reyes, Jones surprised the MMA community this summer when he officially vacated the 205lbs title, which put it up for grabs at UFC 253 in a vacant title fight between Reyes and Jan Blachowicz. In an upset, Blachowicz knocked out Reyes in the second round to win the title.

However, that potential booking has not been overly popular, as Masvidal defeated Diaz fairly decisively when they fought for the BMF title in 2019.

Sports, Cormier sang the praises of a product called the Oura Ring, which tracks health data and can help alert the wearer to potential health problems. The former two-division champion revealed that wearing the ring helped him realize he had COVID-19 and allowed him to get this health issue under control before his fight with Miocic.

The official UFC rankings have been updated after last weekend’s UFC Vegas 9 card, and despite the lack of big names on the bill, there have been some interesting changes. On of the biggest changes to the UFC rankings stems from the UFC Vegas 9 main event, in which Alistair Overeem thumped Augusto Sakai en route to a fifth-round TKO win. This performance, which moved Overeem onto a two-fight win-streak, was enough to push him into the No. 5 spot in the heavyweight division.
