Cody Brundage wasn’t sure if he was going to get another fight in the UFC. Brundage is coming off a DQ win over Jacob Malkoun after the Australian was disqualified for illegal shots to the back of the end. The win snapped his three-fight losing skid, but it was also the final fight of his deal.

Cody Brundage wasn’t sure if he should accept a fight with Rodolfo Vieira again. Brundage and Vieira were supposed to fight last November, but just before Brundage was supposed to fly to Las Vegas the Brazilian pulled out with an injury. It was disappointing turn of events for Brundage, but he ended up taking a short-notice fight against Michal Oleksiejczuk in December and lost by first-round knockout.

Cody Brundage is excited to fight one more time in 2022. Brundage was supposed to face Rodolfo Vieira in November but the Brazilian pulled out on fight week. The news was disappointing for Brundage as no replacement opponent was found – despite him being offered one.

Cody Brundage was happy to shut up Tresean Gore. Leading up to his UFC Vegas 58 fight, Brundage heard all the trash talk Gore was saying, and that included throughout fight week. However, Brundage just put his head down as he had all the confidence in the world he would beat Gore and was surprised the former TUF competitor didn’t come out more aggressive.

Gore was supposed to face Josh Fremd who is Brundage’s teammate, but Fremd got hurt and was forced out of the bout. Once that happened, Brundage offered to step up and the promotion quickly made the fight.

Cody Brundage knew the opening minutes of his UFC Vegas 50 fight against Dalcha Lungiambula would be hectic. Entering his second UFC fight, Brundage knew Lungiambula’s path to victory was an early stoppage. With that, his coaches told him he needed to survive the early few minutes but in the opening exchanges, he got rocked which forced him to focus on surviving.
