Tyson Fury may be fighting Deontay Wilder instead of Anthony Joshua next time out. After Fury TKO’d Wilder in February of 2020 in their highly anticipated rematch, many fans wanted to see the Anthony Joshua fight. It would unify the heavyweight division and prove who is the best heavyweight. However, Wilder was campaigning for the trilogy, but recently, talks between Fury and Joshua seemed to progress.

Tyson Fury said he wanted to taste Deontay Wilder’s blood when they had their rematch and he did just that. In their second fight, Fury was picking Wilder apart and busted up his ear which made him bleed. When they clinched, the Englishman licked Wilder’s blood which he says signified he was a lion, and “The Bronze Bomber” was a gazelle.

Former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall issued a challenge to heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder, saying he’ll “outbox” and “outclass” him. Marshall, now 36 years old, starred in the NFL from 2006 to 2018 for seven teams, including the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos. The 6’5″ tall receiver made six Pro Bowl teams throughout his professional football career and was twice named to the All-Pro team, but he retired after the 2018 season. Since then, Marshall has kept in shape by boxing, and he has in the past teased making his professional boxing debut. After training for the past several years, Marshall believes he’s now ready to enter the ring in 2021, and he’s shooting for the top right away in the form of Wilder.

The pandemic hasn’t just affected MMA, the world of boxing has taken a big hit too. Amid fears of contagion in large crowds, almost all major sporting events have been postponed or cancelled. As a result, the boxing titans won’t be able to fight until October — at the very earliest.

It came after the two elite heavyweights fought to a draw in the first fight, despite many believing that Fury had done enough to win the bout.

Wilder, meanwhile, essentially walked out in a suit of armor, and later blamed his loss to Fury on the weight of this costume.

Deontay Wilder has decided not to fire Mark Breland after all. On Feb. 22, Wilder was taking on Tyson Fury in the highly-anticipated rematch following their controversial draw in 2018. In this fight, Fury dominated from the get-go. He dropped Wilder twice and in the seventh-round, Breland, the second cornerman threw the towel in to stop the fight.

Fury maintained constant pressure to disarm the punching power of his opponent. Wilder was knocked down twice before being cornered in the seventh round. The British boxer began to unload on Wilder, and the American was able to offer little retaliation. To prevent Deontay Wilder from enduring any more damage, coach Mark Breland threw the towel in the seventh round and the referee called an end to the action. ‘The Gypsy King’ thus claimed the TKO victory.
