Tonight’s BKFC 27 event in London is headlined by a highly anticipated welterweight scrap between Michael Page and Mike Perry. Page (20-2 MMA, 0-0 BKFC), who is currently listed at #2 in the Bellator welterweight rankings, will be making his Bare Knuckle Boxing debut hoping to rebound from a split decision loss to Logan Storley. That setback snapped a six-fight winning streak for ‘MVP’.

Dodson went to a BKFC open tryout near his hometown solely for his brother as his brother has wanted to do bare-knuckle for quite some time. Yet, at the tryout, BKFC was talking to him about signing and when he got an offer, it was something he couldn’t turn down.

BKFC women’s flyweight contender Paige VanZant will return in August. ’12 Gauge’ signed to BKFC in August 2020, in a shocking move. While she was a star in the UFC, she had never competed in boxing, bare-knuckle, or otherwise to that point. She was set for her debut Britain Hart in February 2021.

BKFC women’s featherweight contender Bec Rawlings is looking to score a rematch with Paige VanZant. The two last clashed not in the boxing ring, but in the UFC octagon. Back in August 2016, the strawweights clashed on a high-profile UFC on Fox card. In the bout, VanZant knocked out Rawlings in the second round with a switch kick.

Jimmie Rivera will finally end his long layoff on Friday night. Rivera is set to face Howard Davis in the co-main event of BKFC 26. It will be his first fight since February of 2021 when he dropped a decision to Pedro Munhoz. For Rivera, he says it’s a big relief for him to finally fight, this after suffering two canceled bouts since leaving the UFC.

Michael Page will be going sans gloves for his next fight. On Thursday, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) took to Twitter to announce Page has signed a one-fight deal to headline BKFC 27 on August 20 against Mike Perry. The event will take place in London and according to reports, this is a one-off for Page who is still under Bellator contract.

Alan Belcher is set to headline his first BKFC event since coming out of retirement. After Belcher dropped a technical decision to Michael Bisping at UFC 159 in 2013, he proceeded to retire from the sport due to an eye injury he sustained in the fight. After years away from the fight game, ‘The Talent’ decided to sign on with BKFC in 2021, a move which he says needed to happen.

John Dodson is the latest ex-UFC fighter to join Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. On Friday, BKFC took to social media to announce they have signed Dodson to a multi-fight deal. The date and who he will fight in his debut is uncertain but he will likely compete in the bantamweight division which is 135lbs, the champion of that weight class is Johnny Bedford.

Former UFC welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves is no longer under contract with BKFC as he eyes a return to mixed martial arts. Just a few months ago, Thiago Alves noted that he was interested in defending his BKFC middleweight championship against Mike Perry later this summer – perhaps as early as June. Alas, it doesn’t appear as if that’s going to happen, with an MMA return actually being more likely for Alves now at this stage of his career.
