Deron Williams vs. Frank Gore now an exhibition match on Jake Paul-Tyron Woodley 2 undercard

Deron Williams and Frank Gore will no longer be considered professional boxers. Williams a former NBA star and two-time Olympic gold medalist was set to make his pro boxing debut against Gore a longtime NFL running back. The fight was set to be on the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2 undercard on Saturday night on Showtime, but it was going to be a pro bout. However, on Friday, ESPN revealed the fight has now been changed to an exhibition. Even though it will be an exhibition, a winner will still be declared.

Jake Paul got heated after his ceremonial weigh-in for his rematch against Tyron Woodley. Paul and Woodley are set to headline a Showtime boxing pay-per-view on Saturday night in Tampa, Florida. It’s an intriguing matchup given they had just fought less than four months ago in August where Paul won by split decision. However, many had thought Paul had clearly won the fight despite being rocked at one point.

Despite this, Paul is scheduled to rematch Tyron Woodley on pay-per-view December 18th, after their first bout ended in a controversial split decision win for the YouTuber. Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley knows he came close to finishing Jake Paul in their first encounter back in August. Woodley was able to rock Paul with a right hand in their first contest, but he never pounced on his injured foe to finish the fight.
