Smith hosted the first back-and-forth between the two on his show and has now given his thoughts on the fight. Last Saturday night’s main event saw Jorge Masvidal get outwrestled en route to a wide unanimous decision loss.

Joe Rogan believes Conor McGregor will fight for UFC gold in his next appearance. McGregor has hinted he will fight for the belt when he returns for quite some time, and even Charles Oliveira has expressed interest in the bout. Although not many think the fight will happen given the Irishman is on a two-fight losing skid, the odds of a McGregor title fight seemingly increased after Dana White said he’s going to rebook Islam Makhachev-Beneil Dariush. For UFC commentator Joe Rogan, that decision sets McGregor up to fight for the belt.

Rafael dos Anjos has revealed why his proposed fight with Islam Makhachev fell apart. The former UFC lightweight champion was set to face Rafael Fiziev at UFC 272. However, days before the fight, his foe came down with COVID-19 and was forced out. Following that news, Islam Makhachev offered to step in on short notice and fight dos Anjos.

Jorge Masvidal has sent support to Drake after the rapper lost money betting on him. Last Saturday, ‘Gamebred’ and Colby Covington clashed in the main event of UFC 272. The fight itself had lots of bad blood heading into it, thanks to their previous friendship. However, the headliner got an added wrinkle to the story on fight night.

Chael Sonnen believes the sportsmanship of Rafael dos Anjos caused his fight with Renato Moicano to go the distance. It was just this past weekend on Saturday March 5th at UFC 272 that Rafael dos Anjos (31-13 MMA) met Renato Moicano (16-5 MMA) in the cage in the co-main catchweight event. The two Brazilians fought it out for the full five rounds, with RDA coming out the victor.

Cain Velasquez appeared in court today, Monday, March 7th where he was denied bail by Judge Shelyna Brown of the Santa Clara County Superior Court. Cain is a former two-time UFC heavyweight champion and regarded as one of the best heavyweight fighters of all time. Retiring from MMA in 2019 he had a brief stint in WWE before being released in 2020. Velasquez, 39, has been coaching at his longtime American Kickboxing Academy gym in San Jose.

UFC president Dana White believes there’s a good chance Nate Diaz will sign a new contract with the promotion. At this moment in time, Nate Diaz is on the last fight of his current deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The belief is that he’s going in search of one last big payday before riding off into the sunset with Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier and Jorge Masvidal all being touted as potential opponents.

Rafael dos Anjos is making it known that he would like the UFC to book a fight between him and Conor McGregor. A Dos Anjos (31-13 MMA) vs McGregor (22-6 MMA) fight was scheduled way back in March of 2016 at UFC 196. The bout never happened as ‘RDA’ had to withdraw because of a foot injury. It would be Nate Diaz (21-13 MMA) who took his place and won by submission in the second round over McGregor.

The man known as “Chaos” tore through his former friend with a dominant decision win, and while he did have to overcome some adversity in the fourth round, he still managed to come out looking like a star in the welterweight division.
