Top-ranked UFC welterweight contender Leon Edwards predicts he will be the champion at 170lbs in 2020 if all goes according to plan. Edwards is currently riding an eight-fight win streak and has a brilliant 10-2 overall record inside the Octagon. In his last fight, he picked up the biggest victory of his career to date when he bested former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. Since then, Edwards has been vocal about trying to achieve his goal of becoming the UFC welterweight champion.
Conor McGregor hopes to fight three times in 2020

UFC superstar Conor McGregor plans to fight three times in 2020, according to a new report from ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. Helwani was recently a guest on ESPN SportsCenter and spoke about McGregor’s plans for his return to the Octagon in 2020. According to Helwani, McGregor wants to have three fights next year. The first of those is a welterweight bout at UFC 246 against Donald Cerrone, a fight the UFC officially confirmed this week. The other two are fights against either Jorge Masvidal or Nate Diaz, and then finally a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Dustin Poirier not interested in fighting Jorge Masvidal

UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier says he has no interest in fighting his teammate at American Top Team, top-ranked welterweight Jorge Masvidal. Poirier and Masvidal have been teammates for years at ATT. Recently a rift has developed at the camp between Masvidal and Colby Covington. They were considered friends but have become enemies after Covington took shots at Masvidal in public.

Magomedsharipov is one of the finest featherweights in the UFC and a clear-cut title contender at 145lbs. He has a brilliant 18-1 record in his MMA career, including a pristine 6-0 mark so far inside the Octagon. He’s skilled everywhere and is a joy to watch.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza admits his recent fight at UFC Sao Paulo against Jan Blachowicz was boring and that he is considering moving back down to 185lbs. Souza and Blachowicz were criticized by fans and media for their lackluster performances at UFC Sao Paulo, which saw Blachowicz ultimately edge out a narrow split decision. The fight consisted of 25 minutes of both men pressing each other into the fence with little offense to get excited about. It wasn’t the UFC light heavyweight debut that Souza anticipated.
Luke Rockhold loses grappling match at Polaris 12

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold lost a decision to Nick Rodriguez in a no-gi catchweight grappling match at Polaris 12. The bout took place Saturday at International Convention Centre Wales in Newport, Wales, and was streamed live on Fight Pass. Rockhold and Rodriguez grappled at a 230lbs catchweight in what was Rockhold’s first taste of competition since he was knocked out by Jan Blachowicz in the Octagon at UFC 239 earlier this summer.
UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cerrone Fight Card

Yesterday evening it was announced that contracts have officially been signed for Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov to fight on April 18 in Brooklyn, New York. The news, which was reported by ESPN, marks the fifth time that the promotion has booked a fight between ‘El Cucuy’ and ‘The Eagle’.
