On Saturday night, the UFC will return to our screens with the under-the-radar UFC Vegas 14 card out of the promotion’s Apex facility. The card was originally expected to be headlined by a lightweight showdown between Rafael dos Anjos and Islam Makhachev. When Makhachev was forced off the bill with a staph infection, however, No. 7-ranked lightweight contender Paul Felder stepped in to replace him on just five days’ notice. Felder will now meet dos Anjos in a five-round lightweight fight in the card’s main event.
UFC begins roster purge by releasing three fighters including John Phillips

The UFC has begun its expected roster purge by releasing three fighters from the promotion, including middleweight John Phillips. Phillips himself took to his social media on Friday to thank the UFC for the “memories that will last a lifetime.” Check out the message that Phillips shared on his Twitter.

Jedrzejczyk has spent most of 2020 in her native Poland due to the coronavirus pandemic and the travel restrictions it has created. This week, however, the former champion made a triumphant return to American Top Team.

The Stockton native trashed the Brazilian saying it is a terrible title fight so now Burns is looking to grapple Diaz in the very near future.

On Thursday, it was the four anniversary of McGregor defeating Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title and become a champ-champ. So, the Irishman spent the entire day reflecting on the fight, and as he was watching Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen Thompson 1, he realized he likely could’ve become a champ-champ-champ.

Two huge fights have been announced as the UFC return of heavyweight Alistair Overeem and middleweight Kelvin Gastelum are now official. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke both fight announcements on Thursday. On February 6, Overeem will take on Alexander Volkov in a five-round heavyweight fight that headlines a UFC Fight Night card. And on January 30, Gastelum makes his return to the Octagon when he takes on Ian Heinisch. There is no location set for either event as of yet.

Heading into the fight, Felder is a +155 underdog while the Brazilian is a -190 favorite. Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their prediction for the scrap. The majority of pros believe it will be dos Anjos getting his hand raised.

UFC middleweight Jack Hermansson believes that the ground game is the key to beating Kevin Holland when the two clash later this year. Hermansson was originally scheduled to fight Darren Till on December 5 at a UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas, but Till withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Holland. Hermansson is a top-five fighter but decided to accept the fight against an unranked opponent. On paper, this looks like a great fight for the fans even if Holland isn’t ranked just because of what could happen if the fight between these two hits the ground.
