UFC middleweight contender Yoel Romero, who is 42 years old and turning 43 in April, says he plans on fighting into his 50s. Romero, who takes on Israel Adesanya this Saturday for the UFC middleweight championship, is one of the oldest fighters on the UFC roster, but still one of the most dangerous by far. He is in incredible physical and mental shape and is one of the top-five fighters in the world right now at 185lbs despite being the elder of the division.

Yoel Romero is on a two-fight losing streak, having given up competitive decisions to Paulo Costa and Robert Whittaker in his last two fights. Nonetheless, the Cuban Olympian has been granted the next shot at UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya. The pair will collide in the main event of UFC 248 this Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada. Given that Romero is on a losing streak, many fans have been critical of his receiving a title shot. Romero himself, however, isn’t sweating this criticism.

The manager for Yoel Romero says the top contender will grant UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya a rematch if he upsets him at UFC 248. Romero challenges Adesanya for the 185-pound strap this weekend at UFC 248 in Las Vegas. Romero is coming off of two straight losses but is still among the most feared middleweights on the UFC roster. Adesanya told UFC president Dana White he wanted the toughest opponent possible, and when Paulo Costa got injured Romero slid into that No. 1 contender role for the middleweight strap.

Israel Adesanya has explained why he doesn’t fear the “boogeyman” Yoel Romero ahead of their UFC 248 clash in Las Vegas this weekend. Adesanya is set to compete for the first time since UFC 243 where he successfully unified the UFC Middleweight Championship with a resounding victory over Robert Whittaker. He’ll be going up against Romero, who has lost three of his last four fights, but is still consider a dangerous challenge for the champ.

At a recent UFC 245 press conference, “The Last Stylebender” made a comment claiming he will crumble Yoel Romero like the Twin Towers in their main event UFC 248 fight in March.

Adesanya had publicly called out Yoel Romero for his first title defense after Paulo Costa got injured and it will happen in the main event of UFC 248. Even though the fight is over a month away, Masvidal says his teammate and friend in Romero is already ready.

Till took to social media to let everyone know he will fight anyone after news came out he was out against Jared Cannonier at UFC 248. UFC president Dana White has confirmed the promotion is working on booking UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya against Yoel Romero. For months we have heard rumors that Adesanya could fight Romero but so far nothing has been made official. White said that he didn’t have anything official to announce just yet, but hinted an announcement for Adesanya vs. Romero could come soon.
