It’s an interesting debate for fighters and fans alike to have at any time. So, with far less MMA on the calendar than normal, BJPENN.com reached out to several current and former heavyweights to ask who their divisional GOAT is. There, “DC” knocked out Miocic in the first round to become the heavyweight champ. They had their rematch at UFC 241 where Cormier arguably won the first three rounds before Miocic earned a fourth-round TKO win to reclaim his heavyweight belt.

Miocic hasn’t fought since knocking out Daniel Cormier last August at UFC 241 to re-capture the UFC heavyweight title. Miocic is expected to fight DC in a trilogy whenever he comes back, but he has been dealing with vision issues that have delayed his return to the Octagon. And now with the coronavirus pandemic taking over the world, Miocic is focusing on helping the community with his job as a firefighter.

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is urging his fellow MMA fighters to “make an impact in our communities” during the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to being arguably the greatest MMA heavyweight of all time, Miocic also works as a firefighter with the Valley View Fire Department. He’s one of the few champions in the UFC who works a second job, but to Miocic the firefighting is more important to him than his fighting career. It’s something he plans on doing regardless of how his MMA career is going.

Daniel Cormier confirms that trilogy bout with Stipe Miocic will be his last fight

Daniel Cormier has confirmed that he will be retiring from MMA win or lose following his trilogy bout with Stipe Miocic this summer. While the highly anticipated rubber match has not been made official by the promotion, it is expected that Miocic and Cormier will throw down for a third time at UFC 252 this July.

Miocic has been on the shelf with an eye injury and hasn’t fought since defeating Cormier in the pair’s rematch last August at UFC 241. The heavyweight division has essentially been put on hold as both Miocic and Cormier have taken the last six months off to heal from their injuries, but both men are finally getting healthy and the trilogy fight between them is likely going to happen within the next few months.
