UFC women’s flyweight Paige VanZant has opened up as a big betting underdog in her upcoming fight at UFC 251 against Amanda Ribas. VanZant will take on Ribas at UFC 251, which is rumored to take place on Fight Island on July 11. The fight will take place at 125lbs. These two were previously scheduled to fight at UFC Brasilia before the fight was scratched to a VanZant injury. Now that she’s healthy again, the UFC matchmakers have decided to re-book the fight after Ribas publicly called VanZant out after beating her replacement opponent Randa Markos in Brazil.

Paige VanZant will be making the walk to the Octagon once again. VanZant will return on July 11 at UFC 251 against Amanda Ribas in a flyweight bout according to Combate. The event could also take place on Fight Island as VanZant wrote “coming to an island near you” on social media.

UFC women’s flyweight contender Paige VanZant recently provided an update on her upcoming free agency plans, saying she is open to all offers. VanZant has one fight left on her current UFC contract. She was set to fight Amanda Ribas at UFC Brasilia last month but was forced to pull out of the fight after re-breaking her arm. Ribas ended up fighting Randa Markos and putting a beating on her but afterward called for the UFC to re-book the VanZant bout. Whoever VanZant fights next in the Octagon will be the last fight on her current deal, and then she will become a free agent.

Despite the victory, her career has been hindered by a recurring fracture in her arm.

Unfortunately, that planned comeback was fight was foiled by yet another arm injury. Speaking on Instagram, VanZant opened up on this new injury and promised that it will not keep her out of action for too long. She says she’ll fight again in May.

We actually lived together for a little bit. I know her very, very well. For me, I personally do not care. I don’t care what she does. We’re on two different paths when it comes to fighting but she did put me in that list of fighters.
