However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bellator has decided to postpone the event until further notice.

On Tuesday it was reported by ESPN that the promotion would call their next event UFC 249, although the event had previously been postponed and is now happening on the same date that UFC 250 was scheduled. The UFC has attempted to book them against each other twice in the past, first at UFC on FOX 9 in December 2013, and again at UFC on FOX 29 in April 2018. Both times the fight fell through due to injuries Brown suffered in training.
