Porter has strung together three straight wins and on a month’s notice, he got the call to fight Almeida which surprised him. The Brazilain is 1-0 in the UFC and is a light heavyweight so Porter never expected to face Almeida.

The head of Eagle FC would like to send Junior dos Santos in for the job. ‘Cigano’ is set to face fellow UFC veteran Yorgan De Castro this Friday at Eagle FC 47. The bout is slated as a title eliminator bout. The winner of the fight was expected to face Eagle FC heavyweight champion Rizvan Kuniev, well before today.

The Brazilian is set to face Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 275 next month. The bout is going to be Teixeira’s first title defense since capturing the light-heavyweight title last year against Jan Blachowicz. The 42-year-old captured the championship via second-round submission last October.

Alistair Overeem will be turning to pro wrestling. Overeem, the former Strikeforce and DREAM heavyweight champion, recently signed with Glory kickboxing but will now be having a pro wrestling match. Overeem is set to headline the first Wrestling Entertainment Series (WES) event in Nottingham, England on June 4. Floyd Mayweather will still be boxing after all. Mayweather was supposed to box Don Moore on May 14th atop the helicopter landing pad at Burj Al Khalifa Hotel in Dubai. Former UFC champion Anderson Silva was set to be on the card as well. However, just days before the event, due to the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which has prompted the country to announce a three-day suspension of work, the event was canceled.

Nurmagomedov’s father had said he always thought he needed to compete against ‘El Cucuy’, so Ferguson wants it to be coaching TUF given the former lightweight champ is now retired.
