Conor McGregor on psychological warfare: It's a ruthless business and I am the most ruthless
bjpenndotcom - October 14, 2016

McGregor has been able to carefully find weak spots in his opponents mental psyche, which he then uses to get them emotionally invested in the fight, making them more likely to be overly aggressive and reckless come fight-night.

Jose Aldo fires back at Max Holloway: '‘f--k Holloway who won eight in a row'
Russell Ess - October 14, 2016
Current UFC interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo is not happy with the way things are going in the UFC. The former UFC featherweight king who once stood far above the pack is still saying that he wants to be released from his UFC contract so that he can pursue new endeavors. What sparked the outburst and intent on leaving the UFC was when it was announced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would be taking on the lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 for the lightweight title. Aldo, of course, wanted the fight with McGregor for his shot at revenge after losing to his rival at UFC 194. At the very least, Aldo wanted McGregor stripped of the featherweight title with the bout against Alvarez being his third fight outside of the featherweight division with no title defenses made since snatching the belt from him in December of 2015.
Dana White Says "Probably Not" to Second CM Punk Fight
Tom Taylor - October 14, 2016
Earlier this year, on the main card of UFC 203, WWE star CM Punk made his long-awaited debut in the UFC’s Octagon. He made this debut against dangerous 24-year-old prospect Mickey Gall. This debut would go disastrously for Punk, who was promptly taken down by his young foe, only to be softened up with ground-and-pound, and submitted with a rear-naked choke before the clock hit 3 minutes. Given that he began his journey to the UFC with precisely zero real martial arts experience, this was not especially surprising.

bjpenndotcom - October 14, 2016
In the main event of UFC 204 this month, Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson squared off in a highly anticipated rematch seven years in the making. The fight was an extremely incredible one that went the distance, ultimately seeing Bisping awarded the unanimous decision win to get his revenge on Dan Henderson, and defend the middleweight championship. Although Bisping won a unanimous decision, many members of the MMA community believed that Henderson won the fight given that he dropped Bisping in both the first and second rounds. Despite that, Bisping out struck Henderson throughout the course of the fight, and was awarded the unanimous decision win.

Brock Lesnar's Legal Team Point to Eye Medication, Foot Cream as Cause of Drug Test Failure
Tom Taylor - October 14, 2016
Last July, in the co-main event of UFC 200, former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar made a successful return to the Octagon with a unanimous decision defeat of Mark Hunt. Given that Hunt has long stood out as one of the UFC’s 10-best heavyweights, and that Lesnar had not competed in mixed martial arts almost five years, this was a pretty impressive feat. Regrettably, it was later announced that Lesnar had failed both in-competition and out-of-competition drug tests. The former champ popped for the substance clomiphene, an estrogen blocker often used to counterbalance the testosterone boost caused by steroid use. This unfortunate twist stamped a big, ugly asterisk beside his defeat of Hunt.

One week later, in the main event of UFC 205, Irish superstar Conor McGregor will challenge Eddie Alvarez for that UFC lightweight title. This latter bout is the far more talked about of the two. This, of course, is because McGregor is the most popular fighter in the sport.
