In the main event of UFC 204 this month, Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson squared off in a highly anticipated rematch seven years in the making. The fight was an extremely incredible one that went the distance, ultimately seeing Bisping awarded the unanimous decision win to get his revenge on Dan Henderson, and defend the middleweight championship.

Although Bisping won a unanimous decision, many members of the MMA community believed that Henderson won the fight given that he dropped Bisping in both the first and second rounds. Despite that, Bisping out struck Henderson throughout the course of the fight, and was awarded the unanimous decision win.

Following the reading of the decision by Bruce Buffer, UFC President Dana White and Dan Henderson spoke about the decision in the Octagon. Below is the transcription from the UFC’s “UFC 204: The Thrill & The Agony” preview:

Dana White: I had the first round 10-8 (for Henderson), and then you won the second, yep. So I had it two, I had it 2 to 1 going into the fourth (In Henderson’s favor). I had it 2 to 2 going into the fifth. That’s how most people had it over here.”

Dan Henderson: “Yeah, if I had the first round 10-8 I’m up by two, second round I win I’m up by three…”

Dana White: “You’re a freak of nature. I’ve never seen anything like you.”

Shortly after the exchange, Henderson gave his post-fight Octagon interview, where he revealed that this was his final fight in the Octagon, and that at 46 years old, after 47 professional fights, he would be retiring from MMA.
