Jessica Andrade: UFC Strawweight Champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk Has a "Weak Chin"
Tom Taylor - October 16, 2016
Brazil’s Jessica Andrade, who stands just 5’2, began her UFC career fighting much taller women in the bantamweight division. Yet after a decent run in this division, which saw her amass a 3-2 record against solid competition, she decided to drop to the strawweight division, where she’d be at less of a physical disadvantage. This move has paid dividends for the dangerous Brazilian. In just two fights, she has transformed from the middling competitor she was at bantamweight into a bona fide strawweight contender.

NAC Head Says McGregor Was Only Fined $75K for Bottle-Throwing Debacle – Not $150K.
Tom Taylor - October 16, 2016
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz had plenty of highly-publicized run-ins in the buildup to their UFC 202 rematch. The most high-profile of these, however, was their infamous bottle-throwing showdown at one of the event’s pre-fight press conferences. The incident began when McGregor showed up late to the press event. Evidently irritated by the Irishman’s tardiness, Diaz and his team then stormed out of the building, throwing water bottles McGregor’s way as they did. McGregor, who never shies away from an on-camera conflict, then returned fire, pelting his adversaries with water bottles of his own, and an energy drink can. This wild shoot-out, unsurprisngly, drove the fans into a frenzy, and increased the hype for UFC 202 by an exponential factor. The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), however, was not pleased about the ordeal. In fact, they were livid.

bjpenndotcom - October 15, 2016
Jose Aldo has been locked in a dispute with the UFC ever since the promotion announced Conor McGregor would be fighting Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title instead of unifying Aldo’s interim featherweight belt with the belt McGregor took from him at UFC 194. Aldo’s head coach Andre Pederneiras spoke on the subject and naturally backed up his fighter, who is asking for his release from the UFC and is threatening to retire from the sport altogether.

Now, “The Black Beast” is taking on the relatively unknown Shamil Abdurakhimov (17-3) in the main event if UFC Fight Night 102. bjpenndotcom - October 15, 2016

Not only was it announced that Rousey was returning to the Octagon, it was announced that she would be fighting Amanda Nunes for the women’s bantamweight championship in the main event of UFC 207 on December 30th.
Miesha Tate reflects on UFC 200 loss against Amanda Nunes
bjpenndotcom - October 15, 2016
Miesha Tate was on a tear of the UFC women’s bantamweight division from 2014-2016 as she bounced back from back to back losses in 2013 to Cat Zingano and Ronda Rousey by going on a 5-fight win streak that ultimately saw her capture the UFC women’s bantamweight championship by submitting Holly Holm in the co-main event of UFC 196 back in March. Following her win over Holm, Tate was booked for her first title defense against Amanda Nunes on the main card of UFC 200 in July. After Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II was pulled from the card, in addition to Jon Jones being pulled from his headlining fight with Daniel Cormier on just 48 hours notice, Tate vs. Nunes was promoted to the main event.
Dana White responds to Cris Cyborg's comments about lack of push from UFC
bjpenndotcom - October 15, 2016
Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg is now 2-0 inside the Octagon, with her most recent win last month being a 2nd round TKO win over Swedish striking ace Lina Lansberg. Although Cyborg is regarded as one of the greatest female mixed martial artists of all time, she fights primarily under the Invicta FC banner due to the fact that the UFC doesn’t have a women’s featherweight division. In her two Octagon appearances, Cyborg fought at a catchweight of 140 pounds, both times enduring a grueling weight-cut in the process of reaching the contracted weight.

Derrick Lewis prepared to show up on Dana White's doorstep to get show money
bjpenndotcom - October 15, 2016
Derrick ‘The Black Beast’ Lewis, who is currently ranked #10 on the UFC’s official heavyweight rankings, was slated to fight Marcin Tybura in the co-main event of ‘UFC Fight Night: Manila’ this Saturday. Unfortunately, the card was cancelled last minute after main event fighter BJ Penn was forced out of the fight with a rib injury. While the UFC initially blamed the card’s cancellation on strict drug testing procedures in the Philippines, the Philippine commission was quick to respond with a statement that indicated that the card was indeed cancelled because of Penn’s withdrawal given that the UFC Hall of Famer is a marquee fighter.
Conor McGregor sends a message to 'afraid' Floyd Mayweather
bjpenndotcom - October 15, 2016
After Conor McGregor was submitted by Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 196 back in March, there was much speculation as to what the UFC featherweight champ’s next move would be. One of the more intriguing options that was immediately available to McGregor after he was pulled from the UFC 200 card for refusing to fulfill his media obligations was to make the jump to boxing for a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. Both men traded shots back and forth in the media, which resulted in both men verbally agreeing to fight. While talks began as very ‘hypothetical’, things quickly progressed, with an ESPN affiliate even going as far as to announce the date for the McGregor-Mayweather fight. With that being said however, McGregor ultimately ended up signing to fight Nate Diaz in a rematch at UFC 202 in August, which McGregor won via majority decision.
