Jorge Masvidal made his way into the UFC history books at UFC 239 when he zapped the formerly undefeated Ben Askren in a record-shattering five seconds. Now, this incredible victory is being immortalized with a mural at American Top Team, Masvidal’s long-time gym. This Masvidal mural is being done artist Ross Baines. Baines has already painted a small-scale version of the image that will ultimately end up on the wall of American Top Team.

Josh Barnett is interested in a potential Bellator heavyweight legends tournament, and if it happens he hopes the tournament takes place during one night. Barnett was signed by Bellator earlier this year after the UFC released him following a dispute with USADA. He hasn’t fought in three years, and is rumored to be making his return on the year-end Bellator/RIZIN card, though that’s not official just yet.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Alexa Grasso is reportedly open to making a move up to the flyweight division following a majority decision loss to Carla Esparza at UFC Mexico. According to an article from UFC.com, Grasso wants to fight at UFC South Korea this December in Busan. That’s the card headlined by Brian Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie, which was recently announced as the main event.

It is a highly anticipated fight between an Australian and a Kiwi in Adesanya, and it’s being billed as the biggest fight in Oceanic history.

Having discovered how well he performs in these short-notice fights, Burns is now angling to take another — in the middleweight division. When Eric Spicely was forced out of his UFC Boston showdown with Brendan Allen, Burns promptly offered to step in and replace him — despite the fact that the fight will be contested a full 30 pounds above his former division. And in case you thought he was kidding, he assures he’s not.

Bellator president Scott Coker was asked what he thought about the Bellator featherweight world grand prix quarterfinals matchups, and he said that while he liked the matchups, he was hoping at least one of them was different. The fighters drew numbers and picked their matchups, with champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire having the final say during the selection show at Saturday night’s Bellator 228 event. The champ could have picked anyone he wanted to fight, including top prospect AJ McKee or his rival Darrion Caldwell. Instead, he chose little known Pedro Carvalho, a decision which raised eyebrows by fans who wanted the champ to take on a bigger name.

The main event of Bellator 228 saw long-time veterans Gegard Mousasi and Lyoto Machida rematch five years after meeting for the first time in the UFC. Machida won that fight via unanimous decision, and now five years later Mousasi has a victory in the series as he edged out a split decision over Machida in the rematch.
