It will no doubt be a very entertaining fight, yet Iaquinta believes he will get his hand raised and dominate the fight for the full 15 minutes. That, or score an early finish.

Although he has a UFC middleweight unification title fight against Robert Whittaker to prepare for, interim middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is also thinking about another champion in a different weight class. Speaking to The Mac Life during UFC 243 fight week, Israel Adesanya made a bold prediction, saying that he will fight current reigning light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in 2021 at the new Las Vegas Raiders Stadium. While he pointed out that Jones is a big future opponent, he made sure to note the upcoming middleweight contenders he plans to face as well.

Most notably, main event winner Jared Cannonier has rocketed up the middleweight rankings on the strength of his first-round drubbing of Jack Hermansson. He’s now settled at No. 5 in the division, while Hermansson has stumbled to No. 6.

Tristar gym head coach Firas Zahabi says that if UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov ends up fighting the legend Georges St. Pierre, it won’t be at 155lbs. Speaking to MMAjunkie.com, Zahabi said he believes “the ship has sailed” on a fight between Nurmagomedov and GSP at lightweight.

Robert Whittaker’s longtime jiu-jitsu coach Alex Prates recently said his pupil is a better version of Georges St-Pierre. “Maybe you’ll see Robert Whittaker using a style that I think is the one that suits him better but he never really needed it because it was always comfortable for him on the feet for most of his fights,” Prates told MMA Fighting, discussing Whittaker’s looming showdown with Israel Adesanya. “With Yoel Romero, for example, it would have been stupid to try to take him down. But Robert has great wrestling and great timing. I honestly think Robert is a better version of GSP. And we might see this now.”

Veteran MMA referee Dan Miragliotta got himself in trouble over the weekend during his officiating of the Michael Page vs. Richard Kiely fight at Bellator Dublin. Page won the fight via first-round flying knee knockout, but not before some controversy. Kiely had flipped the bird to Page in the cage, and Page responded by showboating, leading Miragliotta to taking a point away from him for unsportsmanlike conduct, which is a very rare occurrence.

Kevin Lee has been critical of UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov in the past, but he appears to have changed his tune. Last month, Nurmagomedov dismantled Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi. Many fans believed Poirier had what it took to defeat the undisputed lightweight champion, however, his efforts were futile as he was submitted by champ during the third round. Nurmagomedov is now expected to fight Tony Ferguson.

Former UFC interim lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee is reportedly ready to return to the lightweight division, and he’s got an undefeated opponent waiting for him. MMA Junkie was first to report that Kevin Lee vs Gregor Gillespie is being discussed for UFC 244 on November 2nd in New York. This will mark the return to the lightweight division for Kevin Lee who most recently suffered a loss to Rafael dos Anjos in his welterweight debut fight. After the one fight at 170 pounds, Lee announced earlier in September that he would be moving back to the lightweight division, and engaged in a back-and-forth with rising contender Islam Makhachev.
