Vicente Luque doesn’t have any interest in facing Nick Diaz after his return at UFC 310. ‘The Silent Assassin’ hasn’t been seen in the octagon since a March clash against Joaquin Buckley. Fresh off a decision win over former UFC champion Rafael dos Anjos in August, the Brazilian hoped to move his winning streak to two. However, Vicente Luque was battered by Buckley, ultimately being stopped in the second round.

We must say, after speaking with Jose, we were left quite concerned. According to Garcia, Cesar Gracie continues to be the antagonist in this update as we previously reported in our last article (see that here). Nick Diaz’s removal from August’s UFC Abu Dhabi event was apparently due in major part to Gracie attempting to get the Stockton General back under contract so that he can financially benefit from Nick returning to the Octagon.

A UFC welterweight matchup between Nick Diaz and Vicente Luque is reportedly in the works for a rebooking at UFC 310 on December 7th. MMA Mania‘s Alex Behunin was the first to report the Diaz vs. Luque booking news. As of this writing, promotion officials haven’t confirmed the fight.

A highly anticipated welterweight bout between Nick Diaz and Vicente Luque has been removed from next month’s UFC Abu Dhabi event. Diaz (26-10 MMA) and Luque (22-10 MMA) were slated to collide on August 3rd at the Etihad Arena. However, during tonight’s UFC Vegas 94 broadcast it was announced that the bout is now postponed due to “travel issues”.

The main event sees Cory Sandhagen taking on Umar Nurmagomedov. Also on the card will be the return of Nick Diaz, while Tony Ferguson also returns to action with hopes of snapping his lengthy losing streak.

Diaz hasn’t been seen inside the Octagon since his rematch with fellow MMA legend “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler back in September 2021.
