Mike Tyson explains why Floyd Mayweather will make a great boxing trainer

Boxing legend Mike Tyson believes that pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather will make a great boxing trainer if that is what he chooses to do in retirement. Mayweather is retired from boxing, though he’s kept the door open for a return and has teased high-profile matchups against MMA fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. Still, “Money” mentioned recently that he won’t fight again in 2020 and instead is planning on getting into coaching to teach the next wave of boxing stars the sweet science. If that’s what happens, Tyson believes he will be an excellent trainer.

Mike Tyson is planning a return to boxing!

The former world heavyweight champion, Tyson, recently revealed to rapper T.I. during a Instagram Live session that he is back in training and hopes to participate in some exhibition bouts for charity soon.

The combat sports industry has been put on hold to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Boxing events have been postponed, and the UFC has already held off on three fight cards. However, Dana White is doing everything he can to resume business. He is currently in negotiations to finalize a venue for the upcoming UFC 249 card on April 18. White also expects UFC 250 on May 9 will still happen. The fight cards will likely take place using a small production team from a closed arena and with strict safety precautions. However, with so little still known about the coronavirus and no vaccine available, holding any event will still pose a risk.

Eyup Gozgec, the president of the Turkish Boxing Federation, is disappointed with the IOC for allowing the boxers to compete at the Road To Tokyo event at London’s Copper Box Arena, asserting that the event should never have taken place during the current health crisis. Gozgec’s complains also apply to the British government.
