UFC lightweight Tony Ferguson has hit back at Dustin Poirier after he claimed he was ‘better’ than the 155ers on display at UFC 274. Last Saturday night at UFC 274, Tony Ferguson fell to a devastating knockout defeat at the hands of Michael Chandler. While he was able to have some success in the first round, it’s the kind of loss that had many wondering whether or not he should consider walking away from mixed martial arts – at least for the time being.

Charles Oliveira has offered to train with Tony Ferguson after UFC 274. Ferguson and Oliveira fought at UFC 256 in December 2020 and the Brazilian dominated the fight and won by decision. It was the second loss in a row for Ferguson and since then, he has suffered a decision loss to Beneil Dariush and was knocked out by Michael Chandler last weekend at UFC 274.

Henry Cejudo has dubbed last weekend’s Rose Namajunas vs. Carla Esparza rematch as the worst fight in UFC history. Namajunas (11-5 MMA) put her strawweight on the line against Esparza (19-6 MMA) in the co-headliner of last Saturday’s UFC 274 event in Phoenix. The bout served as a rematch as the pair had previously met back in December of 2014, where it was ‘Cookie Monster’ who came out the victor by way of submission to capture the promotions inaugural strawweight world title.

Lauzon then decided to take a self-imposed layoff for a few years. Mainly due to the fact that he didn’t want to fight during the COVID-19 pandemic with no crowd.

UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley would like to run it back with Marlon Vera. ‘Suga’ and ‘Chito’ clashed back at UFC 252 in August 2020. O’Malley entered the bout as a somewhat unproven prospect, and Vera was supposed to be the biggest test of his career. It would be a test that he didn’t pass, mostly due to an injury.

The two had clashed eight years prior, with Esparza picking up the win to become strawweight champion. At UFC 274, she once again picked up the victory, but in a much different fashion.

The UFC returned to Phoenix, Arizona for a stacked UFC 274 card where Charles Oliveira lost his lightweight title on the scale. In the main event, Oliveira still took on Justin Gaethje but it was only ‘The Highlight’ who could win the lightweight strap. The co-main event saw Rose Namajunas looking to defend her strawweight title against Carla Esparza.

A fight fan tried to get into the Octagon at UFC 274 but it did not end well for her. After Charles Oliveira submitted Justin Gaethje at UFC 274, and the highlight was playing on the jumbotron, a fan jumped out of her first-row seat to run towards the Octagon. At first, it looked like she planned it perfectly as she was right behind people making their way to the Octagon, but once a security guard saw her make the leap she was thrown to the ground.

Tony Ferguson has clapped back at Conor McGregor for mocking his knockout loss at UFC 274. It was Tony Ferguson (26-7 MMA) vs Michael Chandler (23-7 MMA) on Saturday, May 7th at UFC 274. The outcome was a victory for Chandler, 36, who floored Ferguson with a nasty front kick knockout (see that here). It’s now four losses in a row for ‘El Cucuy’, who previously suffered defeats to Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush respectively.

Michael Chandler is planning a quick turnaround so that he can face Nate Diaz in a welterweight matchup on July 30th. It was Michael Chandler (23-7 MMA) vs Tony Ferguson (26-7 MMA) last Saturday at UFC 274 in a lightweight match-up. The 36-year-old Chandler scored the KO victory with a second-round front kick that floored Ferguson.

Donald Cerrone has outlined his retirement plans after being forced out of UFC 274. It was to be Cerrone (36-16 MMA) vs Joe Lauzon (28-15 MMA) at UFC 274 last Saturday night at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Unfortunately for Cerrone, he contracted food poisoning the night before his lightweight fight and had to withdraw from the card.
