After Nurmagomedov retired, there were rumors of him ending his retirement to face St-Pierre in a super-fight, but it never came to fruition. It is one of the biggest what-if questions in the UFC, as the two are among the best fighters ever to compete.

Among those supporters is ‘GSP’, who is also in the GOAT conversation, as the Canadian believes Jones is the greatest MMA fighter for a variety of reasons.

UFC CEO Dana White announced the fight would headline the card on June 22 late Wednesday evening. The fight also serves as a No. 1 contender bout at middleweight as the winner will get the next title shot, White revealed.
