UFC commentator Paul Felder has issued an apology after being threatened by Bobby Green for what went down at UFC Vegas 71 last weekend. On Saturday night, Bobby Green battled it out with Jared Gordon. While Green was originally awarded a TKO finish, it was later turned into a no contest due to an accidental headbutt on Gordon. In the aftermath, Bobby was infuriated with the decision – and he was also pretty upset by Paul Felder’s commentary.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 71, a battle of top-five heavyweights went down as Sergei Pavlovich took on Curtis Blaydes. Pavlovich was riding a five-fight win streak and was coming off a 54-second TKO win over Tai Tuivasa. Prior to that, he picked up a 55-second TKO win over Derrick Lewis and also knocked out Shamil Abdurakhimov in the first round. Blaydes, meanwhile, was on a three-fight win streak as he had previously beat Tom Aspinall after the Brit tore his knee just seconds into the fight.

Zak Cummings figured UFC Kansas City would be his retirement fight and that ended up being the case. Cummings finally made his return to the Octagon last weekend, this after dealing with a bad back injury that left him unable to even pick up his daughter. It was a hard few months for Cummings but he finally was able to return at UFC Kansas City and got a third-round TKO win over Ed Herman. Although Cummings believed he would win, he was surprised by how dominant it was.

Ahead of his return, former UFC champion Conor McGregor has decided to reminiscence. ‘The Notorious’ is slated to return to the octagon later this year against Michael Chandler. While the fight date, and even the weight class the bout will take place in is still to be determined, McGregor is looking in prime condition. The Irishman has likely been aided by his ability to leave the USADA testing pool after breaking his leg in July 2021.
Robert Whittaker set for title eliminator fight at UFC 290 against Dricus Du Plessis

A title eliminator fight at middleweight will be going down at UFC 290. On Friday, Dana White took to social media to announce Robert Whittaker will take to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 on July 8 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. White also announced the fight is an official title eliminator as the winner will get the next middleweight title shot against Adesanya. This comes a day after White announced several middleweight fights including Vettori-Cannonier and Strickland-Magomedov among others.

UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush isn’t really expecting to fight Charles Oliveira later this year. The longtime lightweight contender has been out of the cage since his clash with Mateusz Gamrot in October. In that outing at UFC 280, Dariush scored a lopsided unanimous decision win over ‘Gamer’. That victory was his eighth in a row, having previously defeated names such as Tony Ferguson and Drew Dober in that stretch.

Dana White took to social media and announced several key fights for a number of upcoming UFC events. White took to Instagram Live to reveal some key fights and among them was Gilbert Burns vs. Belal Muhammad, which is slated for five rounds as the new co-main event of UFC 288 on May 6. The fight could serve as a title eliminator which is why it is five rounds, but it’s a big boost to the pay-per-view card which recently lost Oliveira-Dariush.

UFC fighter Brandon Royval has revealed his frustration at being put on the prelims for his fight against Matheus Nicolau last weekend. In a win that earned him Performance of the Night honors, Brandon Royval knocked Matheus Nicolau out in Kansas City. He did so thanks to a vicious knee, followed by a string of nasty elbows. As a result of his win, he’s now considered to be the number one contender for the UFC flyweight championship. He’s also set to serve as the back-up fighter for the upcoming Brandon Moreno vs Alexandre Pantoja title collision.
