Kamaru Usman believes Khamzat Chimaev and other welterweight contenders need to get past Colby Covington before they can get a title shot. Usman is currently on the sidelines as he rehabs his hand injury. When he returns, it’s likely he will face Leon Edwards. After that, there is no clear-cut contender but Khamzat Chimaev is one fighter knocking on the door. Yet, Usman believes the Swede should have to go through Covington first.

In the lead-up to their fight, Gaethje was vocal in saying Oliveira was still a quitter and he would prove it. He also doubted the Brazilian would stand and trade with him as he said he would, but that turned out to be the case. The two traded shots and Oliveira ended up dropping Gaethje with a big shot and ended up getting a submission win in the first round.

UFC light-heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira’s days in the sport are numbered. The 42-year-old seems set to retire later this year. The Brazilian is set to face Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 275 next month. The bout is going to be Teixeira’s first title defense since capturing the light-heavyweight title last year against Jan Blachowicz. The 42-year-old captured the championship via second-round submission last October.
