TJ Dillashaw says he will be out another “year” following shoulder injury, vows to fight again

TJ Dillashaw will once again be back on the sidelines due to an injury. Dillashaw served a two-year USADA suspension from 2019 to 2021 and in his return fight he was booked against Cory Sandhagen. During that contest, TJ hurt his knee which kept him out of action for another year. He recently returned to face Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight belt at UFC 280, but in the lead-up to the scrap, he dislocated his shoulder multiple times.

Sean Strickland has been very vocal online in his disgust at MMA coaches that date their female fighters, and that recently resulted in a real life confrontation with former UFC fighter Aspen Ladd’s coach / boyfriend Jim West. Back in May, Strickland wrote a number of tweets targeting 45-year-old MMA Gold coach Jim West, accusing him of grooming his 27-year-old girlfriend Ladd when she was underage.

Cory Sandhagen is clapping back against Marlon Vera for his fight-ducking accusations. Marlon Vera (20-7 MMA) has spoken out about the UFC offering him a fight with Cory Sandhagen (15-4 MMA) on short notice for the UFC Fight Night 214 main event which takes place on Saturday, November 5. Apparently, Sandhagen turned down the fight and Vera has taken issue with that.

UFC President Dana White has confirmed that Conor McGregor will require 6 months of USADA drug testing before returning to the Octagon. McGregor (22-6 MMA) has not fought since July of 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier (28-7 MMA) at UFC 264. The 34-year-old Irishman broke his leg during the fight and had to be operated on to repair fractures to both his tibia and fibula.

Max Griffin didn’t know who he was going to fight next. Griffin took on Neil Magny at UFC Columbus back in March and lost a split decision in a very close fight. Silva is set to face Jake Paul in a boxing match at the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona on October 29th. The betting community already has Paul a slight -180 favorite to Silva’s +150 dog, mainly due to ‘The Spider’ being 47 years old. Getting knocked out twice in training wouldn’t improve Anderson’s chances.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka has been getting to know his local USADA representative pretty well this year. According to a report from TSN reporter Aaron Bronsteter, Prochazka has been tested by USADA a shocking 24 times in the past month. That brings his 2022 test total to 51, which makes him the most tested athlete in the UFC this year by a long shot. Kamaru Usman and Manuel Kape are tied for second place with just 15 tests apiece.
