Late last night, it was reported that Jon Jones was charged with battery. It is alleged that the UFC’s light heavyweight champion touched a strip club waitress inappropriately, and then forced her onto his lap as he kissed her neck, and put her in a chokehold. The waitress then says she told Jones to stop on numerous occasions, but he never did.

Masvidal has been the talk of the mixed martial arts world since his flying knee knockout over Ben Askren. The promotion announced on Monday that former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson will take on Myles Jury in the main event of Bellator 227. The event takes place Sept. 27 in Dublin, Ireland. The fight pairing was confirmed during Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN on Monday and announced in a Bellator press release.

Of course, it’s not like he hasn’t been thinking about hanging up the gloves. In fact, the former champ has retired several times over the last few years — though none of those retirements have stuck.

Colby Covington was quick to jump on battery allegations against Jon Jones. KRQE News 13 revealed that Jones is facing a battery charge stemming from an alleged April strip club incident. A spokesperson for Jones, James Hallinan, said the accusations are false and that Jones didn’t know of the charge until he was informed by the TV news station.

UFC president Dana White wants to book the Amanda Nunes vs. Cris Cyborg rematch. He says it’s a fight that the champ Nunes wants, and he says it’s the fight the UFC wants to make. But White is adamant that Cyborg does not want the fight. White told TMZ Sports that Nunes told him she wants to fight Cyborg again, but said Cyborg doesn’t want the matchup, and gave his reason why he believes that’s the case.

This incident reportedly occurred in April. The New Zealander did just that, as he went into enemy territory against the hometown hero James Vick and came through with arguably the biggest win of his UFC career to date. Five years just passed since Conor McGregor fought Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night 46 in Dublin, Ireland. McGregor was still and up-and-coming featherweight at that point in time, and the first-round TKO win over Brandao helped legitimatize McGregor as a forced to be reckoned with at 145lbs in the Octagon. On the fifth-year anniversary of their fight, McGregor took to social media to tell his former foe that he thinks he should be back in the UFC. Brandao was released by the UFC in 2016, and has been fighting for promotions such as RIZIN and Fight Nights Global ever since then.
