Chandler made the final appearance of his current contract in last night’s Bellator 243 headliner for a rematch with Benson Henderson. The pair had previously squared off in November of 2016, with Chandler emerging victorious by way of judges split-decision.

Valerie Loureda kept her perfect mixed martial arts record in check at last night’s Bellator 243 event, scoring a spectacular knockout victory over Tara Graff. After dropping her opponent with a perfectly timed right hand, Valerie promptly ended the fight with some nasty ground and pound (see that here). It was an amazing performance from the budding star in Loureda, one which improved her overall professional record to 3-0.

Former UFC flyweight title challenger Ray Borg has been released by the world’s leading MMA promotion after recently withdrawing from another bout. Borg has had issues making it into the Octagon throughout his career. At both 125lbs and 135lbs, he has missed weight multiple times throughout his career. Injuries have also caused several of his past bouts to fall through. His son Anthony has also been ill which had led to Borg having to withdraw from several fights to take care of him, as well.

Undefeated Irish boxing superstar Katie Taylor is looking at a potential cross-code matchup against MMA legend Cris Cyborg. Taylor is a perfect 15-0 in professional boxing since making her debut in 2016 and is next set to take on Delfine Persoon later this month for the lightweight title. Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn doesn’t want Taylor to look too far ahead of her opponent, but he recently admitted that she’s interested in several matchups including a fight against Cyborg.
UFC on ESPN+ 32 weigh-in results: Two fighters miss weight

UFC on ESPN+ 32: Lewis vs. Oleinik takes place on Saturday at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and the weigh-ins took place on Friday. In the five-round heavyweight main event, headliners Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik both made weight. Lewis tipped the scales at a robust 265lbs while Oleinik was much smaller at 227lbs. This is a big fight in the UFC heavyweight division as Lewis is ranked No. 4 while Oleinik is ranked No. 10.
Corey Anderson signs with Bellator

Former Ultimate Fighter winner Corey Anderson, the No. 4 ranked light heavyweight in the UFC, has signed a new contract with Bellator. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani broke the news that Anderson had signed with Bellator. According to Helwani, Anderson asked for his release from the UFC despite having multiple fights left on his contract. The UFC granted Anderson his release and he signed with Bellator. Terms of Anderson’s deal with Bellator were not immediately available.

Two flyweight title fights featuring Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt and Valentina Shevchenko vs. Jennifer Maia have been added to UFC 255. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke the news that the world’s leading MMA promotion is planning both of these tittle fights for UFC 255, which will take place on November 21 at a to-be-determined location. UFC president Dana White confirmed both bouts are official. ESPN’s Ariel Helwani later added that Figueiredo has signed a new, six-fight contract with the UFC.

UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem denied that he ducked a matchup against Derrick Lewis, saying that fight is an “easy paycheck” for him. Lewis takes on Aleksei Oleinik this Saturday night in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 32. Though Oleinik is a top-10 heavyweight, some fans were surprised when the UFC booked this fight because Overeem, who is ranked higher in the division, is currently without an opponent. According to Lewis during virtual media day for the event, the UFC tried to book him against Overeem but he says Overeem turned him down three times.

UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje is auctioning off his fight kit and gloves from the Tony Ferguson fight to raise money for his sick cousin. Gaethje took to his Instagram on Thursday to share a post about his cousin Jonathan, who needs specialized treatment. Gaethje’s family recently started a GoFundMe for Jonathan and now Gaethje is taking things a step further, as he is now auctioning off his fight kit and gloves from his fifth-round TKO win over Ferguson at UFC 249.
Khabib Nurmagomedov will not train at AKA for Justin Gaethje fight at UFC 254

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will not train at American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) for his upcoming fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Nurmagomedov has trained under coach Javier Mendez at AKA for all of his fights dating back to 2012 when he first joined the UFC. Under Mendez, Nurmagomedov blossomed into one of the greatest lightweights of all time. Along with Nurmagomedov, Mendez has coached numerous other UFC champions including Cain Velasquez, Daniel Cormier, and Luke Rockhold. But Nurmagomedov has long been the prized jewel of the AKA family.
