Overeem, the former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 heavyweight champion, will enter the fight with a TKO win over Walt Harris in the rear-view, and is adamant he’s got one more UFC title run left in him. The once-beaten Sakai, on the other hand, is riding four straight wins in the Octagon, having recently bested Chase Sherman, Andrei Arlovski, Marcin Tybura and Blagoy Ivanov.

Lewis takes on Aleksei Oleinik this Saturday night in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 32. Though Oleinik is a top-10 heavyweight, some fans were surprised when the UFC booked this fight because Overeem, who is ranked higher in the division, is currently without an opponent. According to Lewis during virtual media day for the event, the UFC tried to book him against Overeem but he says Overeem turned him down three times.

In the main event of UFC on ESPN 8, Alistair Overeem was looking to get back into the win column when he fought Walt Harris. “The Big Ticket” was making his return to the Octagon after the murder of his stepdaughter Aniah. The emotions were high for this one. But, in the end, it was Overeem who got the job done by second-round TKO. Harris, though, did have success early on as he dropped the Dutchman in the first round but Overeem survived.

During that battle, “The Reem” lead the action until his opponent managed to flip the switch at the very end of the fifth round and achieve the KO win. Prior to his finish against Rozenstruik, Alistair Overeem was riding back-to-back TKO wins against opponents Alexei Oleinik and Sergei Pavlovich.
