UFC welterweight contender Gilbert Burns trashed “coward” Leon Edwards for reportedly turning down the Jorge Masvidal fight. Edwards and Masvidal got into it a few years ago at a UFC London event, where Masvidal struck Edwards backstage with his “three-piece and a soda” combo. Masvidal became a superstar following that incident and ended up fighting for the belt twice against Kamaru Usman, while Edwards has been fairly inactive since then. It’s now two years later, and these are still two of the best welterweights on the planet. With both Edwards and Masvidal currently without an upcoming fight, it does make sense for them to fight each other.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Mackenzie Dern released a statement following her decision loss to Marina Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 39. Dern lost a unanimous decision to Rodriguez in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 39, which was the “Fight of the Night.” It was a fantastic back-and-forth fight between the two 115lbs contenders, but it was Rodriguez who ultimately walked away with the win after out striking her opponent for the majority of the 25 minutes. Although Dern did have some strong points in the fight with her ground game, overall she was beaten to the punch on the feet. Still, it was an awesome fight and Dern gained plenty of respect for her performance in the fight. Despite losing, she went a hard 25 minutes and showed heart.

UFC welterweight contender Vicente Luque still wants to fight Nate Diaz in December, saying that “I know Nate wants it, as well.” Luque is one of the top welterweight contenders in the UFC right now, and following his win over Michael Chiesa at UFC 265, he called Diaz out for a fight. Diaz appears to be interested in the matchup as well, but up to this point, the UFC has not booked the fight. However, Luque is still holding out hope that the UFC is open to booking this matchup.

UFC women’s strawweight contender Marina Rodriguez says that former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk should be removed from the UFC rankings. Rodriguez defeated Mackenzie Dern via unanimous decision in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 39 event. It was a tremendous performance by Rodriguez, who outstruck Dern for the majority of the rounds and who defended Dern’s submission attempts when the fight hit the ground. The victory will elevate Rodriguez into the top five of the women’s strawweight division, and at this point, she is probably one win away from a title shot.

UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley believes that Dan Hooker deserves more recognition and popularity, saying “he should be more of a star.” Hooker recently fought and defeat Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 266 under less-than-ideal circumstances. The UFC lightweight contender got his visa on incredibly short notice, but despite the circumstances, he went out there and put on an incredible performance. A few days after that, Hooker decided to step up and take the fight that no one else wants. He will now fight Islam Makhachev at UFC 267 later this month. The fact that he is stepping up on short notice to fight someone like Makhachev shows how much of a stud that he is, and his fellow UFC fighters, such as O’Malley, have nothing but respect for what Hooker’s doing.

Tyson Fury put his WBO and The Ring heavyweight titles on the line tonight when he squared off with Deontay Wilder for a third time. Fury (31-0-1) and Wilder (42-2-1) had originally collided back in 2018, with ‘The Gypsy King’ miraculously surviving a late knockdown in the final round to fight to a split draw.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is back this evening with BKFC Montana: ‘Riggs vs Guillard’, a 10-bout fight card headlined by the former UFC standouts. Joe Riggs (49-18-1 MMA, 3-1-1 BKB) will enter tonight’s main event looking to rebound. In his most recent effort this past June, ‘Diesel’ suffered a fourth round TKO loss to Hector Lombard in a fight for the promotions inaugural Cruiserweight Championship. Prior to that setback, Riggs had gone undefeated under the BKFC banner, winning three decisions and fighting to one draw.

James Krause says he made a “huge coaching error” at UFC Vegas 39 that will wind up haunting him for some time to come. Krause (28-8 MMA), a current UFC welterweight fighter, was on coaching duties for tonight’s men’s flyweight bout between his pupil Tim Elliott and opponent Matheus Nicolau.

Justin Gaethje is looking for a fan-friendly fight but thinks Michael Chandler will try and wrestle him. Gaethje and Chandler are set to fight at UFC 268 on November 6 in Madison Square Garden in a highly-anticipated fight. When the fight was made, Chandler said he wouldn’t take a backward step but Gaethje doubts that will happen. Instead, he says he thinks the former Bellator lightweight champion will turn into a b***h and wrestle him.
