TJ Dillashaw roasts Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan following UFC 259

Christopher Taylor - March 6, 2021

Former bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw was clearly watching tonight’s 135-pound title fight between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling at UFC 259. Yan (15-2 MMA) had captured the promotions vacant bantamweight title at UFC 251 after scoring a fifth round TKO victory over MMA legend Jose Aldo. That win had marked the Russian’s tenth in a row and seventh straight under the UFC banner.

Cole Shelton - March 5, 2021

Cory Sandhagen is interested in fighting TJ Dillashaw. After Sandhagen scored a highlight-reel flying knee KO win over Frankie Edgar, he called for a title shot against the winner of Petr Yan vs Aljamain Sterling this weekend. However, Yan has made it clear he wants TJ Dillashaw next, but according to Sandhagen, he has been approached about fighting the former champ and is interested in the fight.

Dana White says UFC working on No. 1 contender fight for TJ Dillashaw

Adam Martin - March 4, 2021

UFC president Dana White said the promotion is working on a No. 1 contender fight for TJ Dillashaw in his upcoming return to the Octagon. Dillashaw recently completed his two-year USADA suspension and is now eligible to return to the UFC and fight once again. He has hinted at wanting a title shot against the winner of UFC 259’s Petr Yan vs. Aljamain Sterling title fight, and Yan has said he, too, wants to fight Dillashaw if he beats Sterling, but so far we haven’t had any word on the UFC’s plan.

Petr Yan wants "cheater" TJ Dillashaw next because it will be a "punishment" for him

Cole Shelton - March 4, 2021

Petr Yan is hoping to be active in 2021. In 2020, Yan only got to step foot in the Octagon once, but he made good of that one time as he scored a fifth-round TKO win over Jose Aldo to become the new bantamweight champion. After the fight, it was clear Aljamain Sterling would be next in line, and months later the fight has been made.

Pedro Munhoz releases statement after "Fight of the Night" war with Jimmie Rivera at UFC Vegas 20

Adam Martin - February 28, 2021

UFC bantamweight contender Pedro Munhoz released a statement after his “Fight of the Night” war with Jimmie Rivera at UFC Vegas 20. Munhoz and Rivera went a hard 15 minutes against each other, with Munhoz emerging as the winner via unanimous decision due to all the damage he did with his calf kicks. There were numerous points during the fight that Rivera looked to be on his last legs, but somehow he kept on chugging on. Munhoz, meanwhile, continued to smash Rivera’s legs and his face with some heavy hooks as the two exchanged leather for three rounds. Both men were later rewarded by the UFC with the “Fight of the Night” bonus for $50,000 each.

TJ Dillashaw wants rematch with "lucky" Henry Cejudo to prove he's not "as good as he thinks he is"

Cole Shelton - February 23, 2021

TJ Dillashaw is hoping to lure Henry Cejudo out of retirement. In January of 2019, Dillashaw dropped down to flyweight to face Cejudo to try and become a champ-champ. Unfortunately for Dillashaw, the fight did not go his way as he was knocked out in 32 seconds and was then suspended for two years by USADA.

TJ Dillashaw hoping for immediate title shot in UFC return: "I’m ready to go straight for the belt"

Adam Martin - February 22, 2021

UFC bantamweight TJ Dillashaw is hoping for an immediate title shot in his UFC return, saying that he’s “ready to go straight for the belt.” Dillashaw has not fought since January 2019 after he testing positive for PEDs following a TKO loss to Henry Cejudo at UFC on ESPN+ 1. Dillashaw was then suspended for two years by USADA, but he recently completed his suspension and is now ready to return to the cage. There has been plenty of speculation about who Dillashaw could fight in his Octagon comeback, with whispers that he could get a title shot against UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan. Remember, Dillashaw didn’t lose his belt, he vacated it. So in his mind, there is a justification for him coming back to fight for the belt despite the PEDs.

Petr Yan open to fighting TJ Dillashaw if the price is right and he doesn't use PEDs

Adam Martin - January 28, 2021

UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan says he is open to fighting TJ Dillashaw as long as the price is right and he doesn’t use PEDs. Yan is set to fight No. 1 contender Aljamain Sterling at UFC 259 on March 13. While he has a tough fight coming up against “Funk Master,” Yan can’t help but look to what other challenges there are in the division. One of those is Dillashaw, the former UFC bantamweight champion. After two years away from the Octagon due to a USADA suspension, Dillashaw is now eligible to return to action, and UFC president Dana White recently confirmed that he could fight for the belt in his first fight back.

Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw looks to be in phenomenal shape ahead of his highly-anticipated return to the Octagon. Dillashaw recently completed his two-year suspension with USADA and he is set to return to the UFC in short order. It was back in January 2019 when Dillahaw’s world came crashing down after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs following a TKO loss to Henry Cejudo. He vacated the 135lbs title following the fight and has been sitting on the sidelines ever since then, waiting for his return to the Octagon.

Henry Cejudo takes a shot at TJ Dillashaw on two-year anniversary of knockout

Adam Martin - January 19, 2021

Henry Cejudo took a shot at rival TJ Dillashaw on the two-year anniversary of the night he knocked him out at UFC on ESPN+ 1. It was at UFC on ESPN+ 1 on January 19, 2019, when Dillashaw dropped down to 125lbs in order to win a second UFC title. At the time, he was the UFC bantamweight champion and Cejudo was the UFC flyweight champion, fresh off of an upset win over Demetrious Johnson. That night, Cejudo didn’t even need a minute to finish Dillashaw, stopping him in just 32 seconds via TKO.

Cody Garbrandt names the three opponents on his hit list

Adam Martin - January 15, 2021

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt named the three fighters on his hit list, including the man who took his belt, TJ Dillashaw. Garbrandt is set to make his return to the Octagon in the next couple of months after missing the last six months of action due to injuries, not to mention a rough case of COVID-19. We last saw “No Love” at UFC 250, where he knocked out Raphael Assuncao. That win earned him a title shot at 125lbs, but he wasn’t able to make it to the fight, and the flyweight division looks very different now. That’s why Garbrandt has said that he plans on returning as a bantamweight in his comeback.

Showing off the new wares were none other than UFC superstars Stephen Thompson and, at the time the UFC bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw.

Dana White not ruling out immediate title shot for TJ Dillashaw

Adam Martin - January 11, 2021

UFC president Dana White says he is not ruling out an immediate title shot for former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. Dillashaw is set to return from his two-year suspension by USADA in January 2019 for performance-enhancing drugs. The former bantamweight kingpin recently shared photos of his current physique, and he looks like he’s ready to come back and dominate. Considering he’s a big name in the division and a former champion, we’ve seen fighters such as Jose Aldo and Rob Font call him out. They are both top-10 opponents, but it’s possible Dillashaw is chasing after even bigger fish.

Cory Sandhagen: It will be "a bummer" if TJ Dillashaw gets immediate title shot

Tom Taylor - January 6, 2021

Cory Sandhagen says it will be “a bummer” if TJ Dillashaw is granted an immediate opportunity to reclaim the UFC bantamweight title. Dillashaw ruled over the bantamweight division for several years, but was stripped of his title after testing positive for EPO, an injectable-only performance enhancing drug. After being stripped and admitting his mistake, Dillashaw was suspended for two years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency. As his suspension nears its conclusion, he’s campaigned for the immediate opportunity to reclaim his title.

Adam Martin - December 21, 2020

UFC legend Jose Aldo called TJ Dillashaw’s past drug test failures “a mistake” and says he still considers him a champion in MMA. Dillashaw has not fought since January 2019 when he suffered a TKO loss to Henry Cejudo at UFC on ESPN+ 1. Following that fight, Dillashaw tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and he has missed the last two years of action. Next month, Dillashaw will finally be able to return to the Octagon after serving his two-year USADA suspension, and already several UFC fighters have called him out for his return.

TJ Dillashaw seems to be in the best shape of his career as he prepares to make his long-awaited return to the UFC next year. Dillashaw, who was suspended for two years by USADA after testing positive for erythropoietin (EPO) after his January 2019 loss to Henry Cejudo, has been receiving a number of call-outs as the former champion attempts to come back and reclaim the Bantamweight Championship that he technically never lost.
