Deiveson Figueiredo reacts after being snubbed of a performance bonus at UFC 255

UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo was not thrilled that he was snubbed of a 50k “Performance of the Night” bonus award at UFC 255. Figueiredo defended the 125lbs belt for the first time since winning it over Joseph Benavidez on Fight Island when he took on Alex Perez in the main event of UFC 255. Though some were predicting that Perez could stylistically defeat Figueiredo with his wrestling, it turns out Figueiredo wasn’t having any of that. Soon after the fight hit the ground, Figueiredo was able to lock Perez up in a guillotine choke and finish him.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt clearly tuned in to watch Deiveson Figueiredo square off with Alex Perez at UFC 255. ‘No Love’ was initially slated to challenge Figueiredo for his flyweight championship at tonight’s event, but was ultimately forced to withdraw from the contest after suffering a torn bicep in training.

Israel Adesanya goes off on MMA manager for being a “clout trout”

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya went off on manager Abe Kawa in a social media rant, accusing the agent of being a “clout trout.” Adesanya will be providing analysis for next weekend’s Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. boxing exhibition match. However, according to Kawa, his client Jorge Masvidal was offered the opportunity to be an analyst first and he turned it down. Adesanya did not like what Kawa said and took it as an opportunity to reveal that in 2018, Kawa tried to recruit Adesanya to his stable of fighters at First Round Management. He posted screenshots, too.

GLORY kickboxing ace Alex Pereira, the lone man to knockout Israel Adesanya, made his LFA debut on Friday night and scored another nasty KO. Pereira is the GLORY kickboxing middleweight and interim light heavyweight champion at the moment, but he is also an MMA fighter with a 2-1 record. Alex recently spoke to BJPenn.com and indicated that he was planning on taking more MMA fights, as he disclosed that he can take two fights a year with LFA as part of his current GLORY deal. On Friday night at LFA 95, Pereira took advantage of that clause in his contract when he made his promotional debut against Thomas Powell, a fight where Pereira scored a crazy KO.

PFL star Kayla Harrison made her Invicta FC debut on Friday night and put on an incredible performance, defeating Courtney King via TKO. Harrison was allowed to go over from PFL to Invicta FC to take a fight while the Professional Fighters League is on hiatus in 2020. In her first fight with Invicta FC, Harrison made her professional women’s featherweight debut against King in what was a huge mismatch. The fight turned into a bloody mess as Harrison dominated King with her incredible grappling skills while bloodying her up on the mat for a second-round TKO.
