Roman Bogatov has been cut by the UFC after landing multiple fouls in a decision loss to Leonardo Santos at UFC 251 in Abu Dhabi last month. Bogatov couldn’t seem to get out of his own way in the fight with Santos, landing a pair of groin shots and an illegal knee during the three-round contest. These repeated fouls earned him a two-point penalty courtesy of referee Marc Goddard, which led to a decision loss, and ultimately, his UFC release.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 6, top-10 heavyweights collided as Derrick Lewis took on Alexey Oleynik. It was a pivotal fight for both men as with the heavyweight title on the line at UFC 252, the winner could earn a number one contender bout or a title shot depending on the outcome. In the lead up to the fight, it was expected if Oleynik wins it would be by submission and if Lewis wins it would be by knockout. Ultimately, it was Lewis who got his hand raised by second-round knockout.

UFC welterweight Geoff Neal announced he is out of his fight against Neil Magny after he says he “almost died” and Robbie Lawler is rumored as the replacement. Neal was set to make his first appearance in 2020 after sitting on the bench for the first half of the year. He is the No. 11 ranked welterweight in the UFC and is coming off of five straight wins in the Octagon, so a win over No. 14 Magny would have been huge for him in his quest for the title. The two were set to square off later this month on August 29 in Las Vegas, but not anymore as the Neal vs. Magny fight will not happen anytime soon.
