Lyoto Machida plans KO of Gegard Mousasi, then Bellator title win

Lyoto Machida has planned out the rest of 2019 and the beginnings of 2020. In the co-main event of Bellator 228, the former UFC light heavyweight champion Machida is taking on Gegard Mousasi. This middleweight fight is a rematch of their 2014 fight, which Machida won by decision.
Artem Lobov willing to rematch Paulie Malignaggi in boxing

Earlier this year, arch enemies Artem Lobov and Paulie Malignaggi stepped through the ropes to battle in a bare knuckle boxing match. In the end, the mixed martial arts veteran Lobov won this fight by decision, although the former boxing champ Malignaggi — and a good portion of viewers — felt the judges got it wrong. Given the controversy surrounding this fight, and the lingering beef between the two stars, Lobov says he’s willing to rematch Malignaggi in the boxing ring. The Russian-born Irishman suggested the fight could occur on the undercard of the upcoming rematch between YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI, which will air on DAZN on November 9.

In his most recent and infamous callout, Nate Diaz called for a fight against Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal and referred to him as one of the very few “gangsters” left in the UFC, and while crediting his future opponent, Diaz also pointed out that Masvidal was not a “West Coast Gangster”. Since the callout, no one has asked Jorge Masvidal about the “West Coast Gangster” comment even when both fighters were across from each other, but during the most recent UFC event in Mexico City, Masvidal finally responded.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is coming back for one more fight. In an interview with Ariel Helwani of ESPNESPN, Cormier said he will be returning to the Octagon for the final fight of his career. That final fight, according to Cormier, will be a trilogy fight against Stipe Miocic who won the heavyweight title back from Cormier with a fourth-round victory over Cormier at UFC 241.

While Maycee Barber prepares for her upcoming fight against Gillian Robertson in Boston on October 18, she’s taking aim at a woman she hopes will be a future opponent, Paige VanZant. Since she has entered the UFC, Barber, also known as “The Future” has consistently discussed the countdown clock on her phone, where has a mission to become the youngest UFC champion in the history of the sport. In order to do so, Barber will have to break the record held by current light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. While her goal and focus is to become the youngest champion, she feels Paige VanZant wouldn’t have any of the opportunities she currently has if it wasn’t for her place in the UFC.

In fact, Whittaker is so well-rounded that his coach Alex Prates considers him a “better version of” Georges St-Pierre. “Maybe you’ll see Robert Whittaker using a style that I think is the one that suits him better but he never really needed it because it was always comfortable for him on the feet for most of his fights,” Prates told Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting. “With Yoel Romero, for example, it would have been stupid to try to take him down. But Robert has great wrestling and great timing. I honestly think Robert is a better version of GSP. And we might see this now.”
