Douglas Lima doesn’t believe Michael Page should get a title shot anytime soon. Page is riding a three-fight winning streak since suffering his first loss to Lima at Bellator 221. Since the knockout loss, he beat Richard Kiely, Giovanni Melillo, and Shinsho Anzai by knockout. With “MVP” on a winning streak he has called for a rematch with Lima. Yet, the champion isn’t impressed with the Englishman’s caliber of wins and says he doesn’t deserve a title shot.

Veteran UFC lightweight Michael Johnson is among the new fighters who have been added to the upcoming cards on May 13 and May 16 in Jacksonville, Florida. Two weeks ago, UFC president Dana White revealed the promotion’s plan to go ahead with three cards on May 9, 13, and 16 in Jacksonville. The UFC has been trying for weeks to get its show back on the road despite the coronavirus pandemic, and very soon the Octagon will touch down in sunny Florida. Since the cards were announced, a number of new fights have been trickling out in the media, and now we have some more for both cards.

American Top Team coach Conan Silveira says the reason Amanda Nunes can’t fight at UFC 249 is due to an ankle injury she suffered in training. The UFC women’s featherweight champion Nunes recently withdrew from a scheduled title fight against Felicia Spencer at the newly-revamped UFC 249 card on May 9 in Jacksonville, Florida. The two were previously scheduled for the canceled UFC 250 card set for Sao Paulo, and UFC president Dana White was hoping to re-book the fight as the third title fight on the new, stacked UFC 249 card.

Leon Edwards can’t make sense of why his scheduled opponent for UFC London, Tyron Woodley, is calling out everyone except him. “Rocky” recently slammed the “clout-chasing” star for his callouts and believes he is “just lost”. On March 21, the British welterweight was expected to headline the UFC event in his home country in London. His adversary would be none other than the former welterweight champion Woodley. However, due to the threat of coronavirus, the event was canceled.

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is taking a hiatus from his MMA career, but it sounds like he’s been putting his skills to use outside the cage. Speaking on a recent episode of Submission Radio, Rockhold shared a harrowing story involving a “zombie-like” woman he suspects was on crystal meth. Rockhold claims the woman accosted him while he was walking a dog and tried to spit on him — a practice that is frowned upon in the best of times, let alone during a pandemic.

White has organized this contest in partnership with Hollywood star and UFC fan Halle Berry. The contest will be organized like a raffle, and the prizes are pretty interesting.

While there has understandably been some criticism thrown in the direction of the UFC as a result of Cruz getting a Bantamweight Championship shot ahead of other contenders like Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan, fans are still excited to see what kind of fight these two men are going to have on May 9 in Jacksonville, Florida.

UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov is urging people to stay home to stop the COVID-19 pandemic. Countries around the world are in lockdown as cases are still spiking. So, Nurmagomedov took to his social media to plead with people to do what their governments say and stay home.

A number of new matchups have been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night card on May 16, including the return of middleweight Eryk Anders. UFC president Dana White recently announced three cards in Jacksonville, Florida, and now the matchups are trickling out. Last week it was revealed the main event of the card will be a five-round heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. This fight was re-booked from its original spot at UFC Portland, and several of the other fights added to this event are also re-bookings from other cards that were canceled.

Kevin Lee did indeed tear his ACL and will be out a minimum of six months. Nearly two weeks ago, Lee came out and revealed he hurt his knee. Yet, he said he wasn’t sure how long he would be out.

Cerrone is slated to make his return on May 9 against former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, a rematch from their first fight back in 2013, where Cerrone came up short, suffering a first-round loss.

UFC bantamweight Duda Santana has been forced to rely on the kindness of her UFC roster-mates to survive the coronavirus pandemic. Santana, who lives with her mother, six siblings, and daughter in the Cidade de Deus (City of God) favela in Rio de Janeiro, recently told Brazilian publication Combate that she has been struggling to keep food on the table during the pandemic, as neither she nor her family members have been able to work.

The Las Vegas-based promotion is plotting three events in an eight-day span, all of which will go down in Jacksonville, Florida. This three-card bonanza will start with UFC 249 on Saturday, May 9. Next up will be a currently unnamed card on Wednesday, May 13, followed my another unnamed card on Saturday, May 16.

Over the last few weeks, there’s been renewed talk of a fight between Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington. According to Woodley, however Covington is driving a hard bargain. Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champ, was originally expected to return to the cage against Leon Edwards on March 21 at UFC London. Unfortunately, the entire UFC London card was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Cris Cyborg has only lost two times as a professional mixed martial artist. Her latest loss came at the hands of Amanda Nunes in 2018, when she was knocked out in 51 seconds. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Cyborg looked back on her devastating loss to Nunes. While she is reluctant to make excuses, she said the chaos surrounding her preparation for the fight caused her to act emotionally in the cage.
