Fabricio Werdum, Wanderlei Silva trash Mark Hunt after UFC Moscow loss

Tom Taylor - September 16, 2018

Earlier this month, news surfaced that former UFC heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum had been handed a two-year suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). This suspension stems from an out-of-competition urine test, in which Werdum tested positive for Trenbolone and its metabolite Epitrenbolone. Not long after Fabricio Werdum’s suspension came to light, his former opponent Mark Hunt, one of MMA’s most vocal steroid critics, issued a scathing reaction.

Mark Hunt eyeing "one last hurrah" in the UFC

Tom Taylor - September 16, 2018

Yesterday afternoon, in the main event of the UFC’s first ever stop in Russia, heavyweight legend Mark Hunt stepped into the cage with Russian submission ace Alexey Oleynik. Though Hunt seemed to be giving Oleynik some trouble early, he wound up being submitted by the Russian in the bout’s first round. With his outcome, the 44-year-old Mark Hunt is on a two-fight losing streak, and a tough 1-3 in his last four fights. While he is still a tough out for any heavyweight on the roster, he appears to be nearing the end of the road.

Mark Hunt talks 'little c***' Brock Lesnar, possible retirement at UFC Adelaide

Drake Riggs - September 11, 2018

When it comes to Brock Lesnar and people that have been busted for cheating, the ‘Super Samoan’ Mark Hunt is never shy about sharing how he feels. Hunt and Lesnar fought at UFC 200 in July 2016. The initial result was that of a unanimous decision victory for the former heavyweight champion Lesnar. Shortly after, Lesnar had been notified that he had failed a drug test for Performance Enhancing Drugs thus turning his win into a no contest.

Tom Taylor - February 11, 2018

Last night, in the co-main event of UFC 221, rising heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes picked up the biggest win of his career thus far, wrestling Mark Hunt to an impressive unanimous decision triumph. While Blaydes got the win he was chasing, he did have to weather some adversity in this fight, as Hunt very nearly put him down with punches in the first frame. Luckily, though, his chin held strong, and he was able to survive this scare.

VIDEO | Mark Hunt Goes Off on the Possibility of Brock Lesnar Returning to the UFC

Justin Golightly - February 8, 2018

Mark Hunt is making his return to the Octagon after going through a series of tests to make sure it was safe for him to be fighting, but Hunt thinks this is all just hypocritical based on his former opponents and what Dana White has just said about Brock Lesnar. Last night, White seemed all about Lesnar returning to the UFC and as you can imagine, that didn’t sit well with Super Samoan. “[Brock Lesnar] shouldn’t be fighting. He’s just a cheater. There should be a show for steroid users like him and you can’t tell me any different. He didn’t deserve to be there. He took the short cuts. It just goes to show [the UFC’s] credibility when they say a guy like Brock Lesnar is coming back. So, it’s all about money and you don’t really care about the fighters at all? Some of you said to me, “Oh Mark, you gotta go and do your tests because we’re worried about you.’ You’re lying? Yeah, I thought so.”

BREAKING | Mark Hunt Won't Be a UFC Fighter in 2019

Justin Golightly - January 25, 2018

The neverending pain of being a fight fan is watching all your favorite fighters fade and eventually walk away from the sport you love. Daniel Cormier has gone on record saying he only has three fights left before he hangs up his gloves due to his 40th birthday. Now MMA legend and PRIDE vet Mark Hunt is saying basically the exact same thing. After his fight at UFC 221, Hunt wants two more chances to walk-off KO opponents before he leaves the UFC. Not retire, but leave the UFC. “I’ve got this one in Perth [at UFC 221 against Curtis Blaydes], then hopefully I can push out two more before the end of the year and my contract will be up. I’d like to fight another three times globally and then probably hang them up. I’ve already been offered three boxing fights. I’m still chasing the UFC dream. I want to be the best mixed martial artist in the world. Maybe I will chase a boxing title after that. Conor [McGregor] fought [Floyd Mayweather] the best boxer in the world, so who knows?”

Mark Hunt is Finally Saying 'That's It' to the UFC

Justin Golightly - December 21, 2017

The Super Samoan has been in the UFC for eight years. That’s nearly a whole career right there, but we’re talking about a combat sports life that dates all the way back to 1998. You name a place and Mark Hunt has probably punched someone there. Chances are, it was also a walk-off knockout. After all this time and his love/hate relationship with the organization, Hunt is finally going to part ways with the UFC after he fights out his contract. “We’ll get that number nine [Curtis Blaydes] and put him away, so hopefully the UFC can give me someone higher instead of giving me someone beneath me. So, it is what it is. I just gotta keep ticking the boxes and just moving ahead with the career. Three fights left, this will be one of them, I got two left and then see you later. For the UFC, yeah. That will be the end of my career in the UFC [after I fight out of my contract]. I have two fights left and that’s it. You probably know the path I’ve had with the UFC, but you know, it’s business.”
