The fight was originally supposed to take place back at UFC 265 in August but Nunes tested positive for COVID-19 and the fight was postponed until December. With the fight now rescheduled, the betting odds have been opened back up.

Nunes’ wife Nina recently took to social media to confirm that their family is negative of the coronavirus, and that led to Pena publicly asking Dana White why the fight with Nunes can’t be rescheduled for an upcoming card.

Pena was supposed to fight Nunes in the co-main event of UFC 265 on Saturday night in Houston, Texas, but the fight was postponed until later this year after Nunes tested positive for COVID-19. Nunes’ wife Nina recently took to social media to confirm that the Nunes family is now healthy and negative of COVID-19, but the UFC has still not re-booked this fight. The original plan was for the UFC to get this fight going in December, but as far as Pena goes, that is too long of a wait considering she is ready to scrap now.

ESPN’s Mike Coppinger broke the news on Thursday that Nunes has tested positive for COVID-19 and her upcoming title defense against Nunes has been canceled. It was scheduled to be the co-main event for UFC 265. According to UFC exec Hunter Campbell, the promotion is hoping to re-book the fight for later this year once Nunes is good to go.
